Report of the School Internship

The B.Ed course of the Department of Education, AMU Kishanganj Centre is governed by
NCTE, a statutory body by the Act of Parliament in 1993. In order to revamp the teacher
education courses throughout India, NCTE has issued new rules and regulations regarding
B.Ed Programme in 2014 and accordingly the duration of this course now is of two academic
years, comprising of four semesters. To impart professional training and to inculcate positive
attitude towards teaching profession, NCTE has directed the teacher education institutions to
send the prospective teachers in schools for twenty weeks for Internship. In this context, the
Department of Education, AMU Kishanganj Centre has decided to send the B.Ed Ist semester
students to the schools from 26th October, 2016 to 30th November, 2016 and B.Ed 3rd
semester students from 29th September, 2016 to 30th November, 2016 at different school
.During this period in schools, the students are supposed to be engage in following activities:

1. The B.Ed (Ist Sem) students will observe the lessons of the school teachers in the first
week according to their methodology papers ie, the subjects that they have opted for
teaching.
2. As per the direction of NCTE every student (Ist Sem) will work under a mentor to be
assigned by the Department of Education in consultation with the Principal of the
respective school.
3. To mark their presence in the schools, the students are required to to put signatures on
a register provided by the Department. This register will be kept in Principals’ office
of every school.
4. As per the NCTE norms the students are required to maintain the records of the
following activities and submit it to the Department when they will resume their
classes at the end of the School Internship:
(a) Detail report of 5 school assembly.
(b) Progress report of at least 5 students.
(c) Detail report on the proceeding of literacy or cultural activities held in the
school like debate, essay writing, Quiz, Baitbazi, Science Olympiads Sir Syed
Day celebration etc.
(d) Detail report on the provision of inclusive education by the school for
examples, how many physically challenged students in the schools, and how
many numbers of students belongs to weaker and disadvantaged sections of
the society who are enrolled in the schools, barrier free access etc.
On the other hand B.Ed 3rd Semester has done their practice teaching in the
different schools from 29th September to 30th November, 2016.
The AMU Kishanganj Centre bears the conveyance expenses of all the B.Ed students during
the whole school internship programme.

The schools located in Kishanganj, i.e. St. Xavier English Medium School, Crescent Public
School, Insan High School, and Holy Vision School are the laboratory to facilitate the B.Ed
students to become the effective teachers. The cooperation of above schools in this regard
will enable us to meet the mandatory requirement of the teacher training program as
envisaged by NCTE, New Delhi.

Final Practice teaching examination of B.Ed 3rd semester session 2016-17 is scheduled to be
held from 7-12-20126 to 9-12-2016 in above mentioned schools.
