NOTES
EKBT Buffer tank kit Installation and operation manual
The Daikin EKBT is a hydraulic kit for in or outdoor installation. It is Piping diagram (See figure 2)
designed to be installed with EUWA, and EUWY series, in closed
systems, and can be used for water and glycol applications. 1 Electric heater element
This device protects the circuit against freezing.
This manual describes correct installation and operation of the EKBT.
If difficulties appear during installation or operation, please contact 2 Safety valve
your Daikin dealer. The safety valve protects the system against excessive
pressure. It opens at 6 bar.
3 Drain/Fill valve
This valve is used to drain or fill the system with water or water/
glycol solution.
4 Automatic air purge
Remaining air in the chiller water system will be automatically
removed via the air purge valve.
5 Buffer tank
The buffer tank reduces the variation in water temperature in the
water circuit. This prevents frequent compressor starts and
stops.

connected on the water outlet side of the chiller, temperature
fluctuations to the load (eg. fancoil) will be lower than when the
buffer tank kit is connected to the inlet side of the chiller.

TROUBLESHOOTING
This section provides useful information for diagnosing and
correcting certain problems which may occur in the buffer tank kit.
Before starting the trouble shooting procedure, carry out a thorough
visual inspection of the unit and look for obvious defects.
