RESUMO Existe uma atual discussão sobre a função social do advogado.

Há quem defenda que

o advogado além de ser indispensável para a administração da justiça, também exerce uma
função social típica, isto é, ele possui papel relevante perante a coletividade, pois sem sua
atuação não se consegue garantir a aplicação dos direitos e garantias legais. É inegável que o
advogado é defensor do Estado Democrático de Direito, da cidadania, da justiça e da paz
social, mas essa defesa precisa ser mais bem definida para que a sociedade possa ter mais
segurança jurídica e assim valorizar mais a profissão da advocacia. O papel do advogado vai
além de seu escritório e tribunais, ele tem contato direto com a população e necessita exercer
sua profissão com moral e ética, trazendo a todos confiança e esperança de uma vida mais
igualitária e digna. Para que a sociedade desfrute de igualdade e dignidade os direitos de todos
precisam ser respeitado e tutelado de maneira segura e eficaz. Esse é o verdadeiro papel dos
nobres colegas, lutar pela coletividade de forma incansável, usando as armas da sabedoria e
do conhecimento para que a justiça seja plenamente efetivada, desta forma o advogado

ABSTRACT There is a current debate about the social role of the lawyer. Some argue that the
lawyer besides being indispensable to the administration of justice, also exerts a typical social
function, ie, it has an important role towards the community, because without his

undeniable that the lawyer is defending the democratic rule of law, citizenship, social justice
