Volunteer Experience
Angelus Hispanic Temple - Volunteer December 2015 - Present
My church organizes free street fairs for the community. I make sure the carnival games are
running smoothly by supervising volunteers and working the booths.
Fur Babies - Volunteer September 2015 - Present
Rescue home for dogs and cats that were previously at high-kill shelters. I walk the dogs and
socialize with cats to increase their chances of being adopted.
California State Parks - Volunteer December 2017 - Present
I shadowed Park Rangers to see what their occupation was like. I learned about community
outreach and lead historical information tours of the park.
Park Champions - Volunteer December 2017 - Present
With this organization, I help with park beautification projects. We care for the gardening aspect
and at the same time teaching the community about the ecosystems in the park.
Involvement
Outward Bound California (OBCA) Summer June 2017
I received a scholarship to go backpacking for two weeks at the Sierra National Forest. I learned
survival skills such as navigation and environmental awareness.
Sustainable Vocations Camp June 2018
I received a scholarship to attend a two-week camp where we lived on a permaculture farm while
learning about sustainable living, restorative justice and earth building.
Turner UCLA Allied Health Internship July 2018
Internship that Exposes secondary students to non-stereotypical careers in the medical field by
allowing them to shadow various occupations at the UCLA hospital.
IgniteLA September - November 2018
Internship at City Hall that teaches women about advocacy in local government. I learned about
civic engagement by discussing local issues and building up my civic knowledge.
Coding Club - Vice President/co-Founder September 2017 - Present
Exposing middle school students to the fields of technology by teaching the basics of coding, and
HTML.
Just Keep Livin’ September 2016 - Present
A club about advocating a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle by providing classes and
activities such as healthy cooking, yoga and, running.
Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) September 2014 - Present
This club teaches the fundamentals of engineering. With that knowledge, we build STEM
projects and compete against other schools.
Student Rock Club September 2015 - Present
Students with all levels of interest or experience in playing any instrument come together to
teach each other and play shows as a band for our school events. I teach ukulele.
