Recommendations to respect during the replacement of front seat belts.

This note cancels and replaces Technical Note 500A.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REPAIR OPERATIONS

During the replacement of a front seat belt, be sure to

respect the fitting recommendations for new inertia
reels described in this note.

Check the driver and passenger airbag equipment

level in the vehicle before ordering inertia reels from
the Parts Department (see inscription on the
dashboard module and steering wheel (1)).

Having found out about the type of airbags fitted to the

vehicle (if fitted to the vehicle), refer to the inscriptions
sewn on the lower belt of the seat belt web (2).

There are three cases:

– vehicle without airbag,
– vehicle with standard airbag, (previous generation),
– vehicle with PRS airbag.

Refer to the illustration below with recommended fitting
information to check that the inertia reel is suited to the
vehicle equipment.

IMPORTANT
For safety reasons, do not fit a new inertia reel which
is not suited to the vehicle equipment.
