Ruben Hernandez & Oliver Arnold 4 Science 2 Mr. Miranda Triacs
A three-electrode semiconductor device that will conduct in
either direction when triggered by a positive or negative signal at the gate electrode. It is similar to a relay in that a small voltage and current can control a much larger voltage and current.

A SCR’s is a thyristor, has four-layer semiconductor device,
consisting of alternating P type and N type materials (PNPN). A thyristor usually has three electrodes: an anode, a cathode, and a gate (control electrode). The most common type of thyristor is the silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR). Consist of four layers of alternating p-type and N-type. Symbol

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that
emits visible light when an electric current passes through it. The light is not particularly bright, but in most LEDs it is monochromatic, occurring at a single wavelength. It is very effective and can be used to enhance light.
