Major Reasons Why Wells & Associates Should Construct Electric Charging Stations

My name is Justin Guidos. I am a scientist in Ecotourism and Conservation Research at

Wells & Associates. The key to the future is transforming technology from oil-based products to

electric based products. If society can limit the amount of Fossil Fuels that companies use in

everyday situations, then Earth will become more ecofriendly and encourage going green.

Being an outdoor/recreation company, our moto is that we believe in “putting our money

where our mouth is.” With new technology arising, we believe that going green and constructing

Electric Charging Stations is the future. Companies such as Toyota are building more and more

EV and PHEV vehicles for purchase. Yet, the EV and PHEV have not become that popular yet;

but they are the next big thing in the car industry. The first mass-produced hybrid vehicle was the

Toyota Prius and was launched in the United States in 1999. Since then, scientists and car

companies are trying to make the world cleaner with these inventions.

In order to start the construction of Electric Charging Stations, we need to consider where

exactly the charging station is going to be located on campus. Through further research, we have

found out that one of the most populated areas has to be near a parking lot. Putting a charging

station near a parking lot would draw attention to it since you have your car parked near it. While

you might not know exactly what it may be at first; Wells & Associates are going to put a

message out to the whole campus of the new charging station located at the parking lot below the

cafeteria, and behind the library. These charging stations will have signs at the top of the station

for a visual. Also, for easier reference, the location for the charging station will be located in the

top left part of the parking lot by the library, and in the back right near the grass field behind the

cafeteria. These locations are best, for it won’t make for a road block. These are the most

populated locations for car, and this would further people to consider buying an EV or PHEV.

If you were to compare an EV or PHEV to a regular combustion engine, I personally

believe that the EV or PHEV would come out on top. First, you would be going from a

combustion engine to an electrically powered car. If society were to switch everybody to these

cars, then the world would be going green. Secondly, electrically powered cars would be doing

less harm to the environment as you are using them compared to a combustion engine. The

pollution that using a regular car gives is an absurd amount. Also, the amount of fossil fuels that

are being used by the production of oil would be reduced by switching to EV/PHEV’s.

A few negatives in switching to EV/PHEV’s is that when you are disposing the battery,

you need to dispose of it properly by recycling it and not throwing them into landfills. This is not

being done correctly because it is much easier to just throw the battery into a landfill. Companies

aren’t recycling since these cars are not that popular yet and they feel the need not to do it.

Another negative is that scientists believe that switching from a combustion engine to EV is

actually worse than using a regular car.

When you are comparing the options for installing an electric charging station or not

there are only two options. Option A is installing an electric charging station and option B is not

installing an electric charging station. Option A entitles making the environment a cleaner and

more sustainable place to live in, it cost $2,300-$6,000 to build an electric charging station

depending on the features you have, and it only cost students $485 per year to operate their car.

This would make the university money, Wells & Associates money, and give the students a

cheaper version to drive. With option B you would be hurting the environment by driving

combustion engines, and it costs people $1,117 to operate a combustion engine on average per

year. There are only two options to what you can do for this operation, and the better option

would be to install the electric charging station.

In conclusion, after doing further research and realizing that constructing an Electrical

Charging Station is the better solution to move into the future, us at Wells & Associates are

going to build 2 locations on campus. This is going to make the campus more ecofriendly. With

this installation it is going to bring ESU and Wells & Associates more interest and make the

community as a whole a better place. This will be the start of something big.

We recommend that you switch over from combustion engine to EV/PHEV because it is

only going to help the environment out in the future. By switching over, you will stop polluting

the Earth with gasses that are harmful to the environment. Companies would be using fewer

fossil fuels to fuel vehicles and make less gas-powered engines. This is a big change to the world

and the society. People are going to be talking about this for generations. You can say that you

were one of the first people to actually switch over to EV/PHEV first.
