ABSTRACT
Primary school indicator promotion health in North Moramo Sub district 2015
by 9 schools from 14 schools (64,3%) and only 8 schools (57,14%) with hand
washing facilities and in 2016 unchanged ie 9 schools from 14 schools (64,3%) and
the number decreased with hand washing facilities for only 4 schools (28,57%) while
the target was set at 55%, one of which is North Moramo State Primary School 8.
The purpose of this research is to know the influence of counseling with audio visual
media on hand washing with soap in students of class IV, V and VI State Primary
School 8 North Moramo in South Konawe Regency.
This type of research is pre experimentation using One Group Pretest-Post
Tes Design design. The population in this research were 71 students of class IV, V
and VI, with sample number 60 respondents, Proportional Random Sampling
technique. The analysis used the data normality test and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks
Test.
The result research was obtained before counseling with audio visual media
from 60 respondents mostly hand washing with soap less than 39 respondents
(65,0%), and good 21 respondents (35,0%). After counseling with audio-visual media
of 60 respondents all had handwashing with soap both 60 respondents (100%). The
average pretest score of 3,08 increased after post test counseling to 6,45. Wilcoxon
Signed Ranks Test test results obtained ρ value <α (0,000 <0,05) shows Ho rejected
and Ha accepted, the conclusion there is influence of counseling with audio visual
media to wash hands with soap on the students of Class IV, V and VI Primary School
8 North Moramo on South Konawe Regency. Suggestions for health promotion
officers of North Moramo Public Health Center and school health coaches for
continuous counseling, hand washing facilities and students are expected to practice
hand washing with soap.
