RX3I PLC WITH VERSAMAX I/O’S ON 2 SETS OF THE GBC HBR

CONFIGURATION

This application note covers the procedure for configuration of the

hardware and redundancy software for RX3i PLC with two sets of the
GBC with Versamax I/O module level diagnostics in Proficy Cimplicity
HMI. This configuration is suitable for systems having two RX3i CPU
system in redundant configuration with two sets dual redundant Genius
I/O LAN and I/O’s on remote Genius Versamax Network Interface Unit.

 Rx3i_HBR_4GBC_FNL Proficy ME project which contains the PLCA,

PLCB & HBR targets.
 Rx3i_HBR.xls is the system configuration file for GBC SBA’s
configuration & Data block parameters
 Cimplicity Classes FAULT_TABLE.soc, PLC.soc and SBA.soc for
cimplicity HMI diagnostics.

4) Steps for PLC Hardware & Logic Configuration
Step-1
Extract the Rx3i_HBR.zip.
Update the Rx3i_HBR.xls Module quantity, channels per modules as per
the system configuration.
Step-2
Open Proficy machine edition and restore the Rx3i_HBR_4GBC_FNL,
open the Rx3i_HBR_4GBC_FNL project in PLCA, PLCB targets Hardware
configuration shuffle the Power supply, CPU, GBC1, GBC2, GBC3, GBC4,
ETM1, ETM2 Slot ID’s as per system configuration (don’t delete the
CPU, GBC, ETM modules only shift the slot ID’s as per the system
configuration)
Step-3
In PLCA Target Hardware configuration in GBC1, GBC2, GBC3, GBC4
add the SBA (Generic IO) and edit the starting reference address and
length as per the Rx3i_HBR.xls.

5) Cimplicity Diagnostics:

Steps for Creating Cimplicity project for Diagnostics

STEP 1. Create a Cimplicity Project with “S90 TRIPLEX” Protocol
selected.

STEP 2. Create a S90 Triplex Port with Mode address as %M32004

 STEP 3. Create a GE Fanuc Series RX3I duplex device mapped to S90
Triplex port created in step 2.

STEP 4. Configure the Primary & Secondary PLCs IP in TCP/IP tab of

the Device window.

 STEP 5. Create New Alarm Class with Class ID “DIAG”

STEP 6. Create New Alarm String with Index “2” with Alarm High as
“LOSS OF MODULE” and Normal as “ADDN OF MODULE”

 STEP 7. Import the Class “FAULT_TABLE.soc” from the attached zip
folder into the Project class folder

STEP 8. Create a New Object for the Class “FAULT_TABLE”. Configure

Device Id, Resources ID and Alarm Class in the Object
Window.

 STEP 9. Import the Classes “PLC.soc” & “SBA.soc” from the attached
zip folder into the Project class folder

STEP 10.Create a two New Object in Class “PLC” for the redundant
PLCs. Configure Resources ID. In the Fault Table Field enter
the Object Name created for the Class “Fault Table” and in
the PLC ID field enter either “PLCA” or “PLCB” to identify
the controllers.

 STEP 11.Create a New Object in Class “SBA” with name GP{1 or
2}_SBAx (x – SBA_NO) for the IO Nodes. Configure
Resources ID and in the Fault Table Field enter the Object
Name created for the Class “Fault Table”. Enter the GBC
Group No as either 1 or 2 in t

STEP 12.Repeat Step 11 until all the required nodes are created.

 STEP 13.Create New Screen or Open Existing screen where the
System Diagnostics is required.
STEP 14.Select Drawing  Class object from the menu and Click on
the Screen to invoke the object browser. Select the Main PLC
object created and Click OK.

 STEP 15.Double Click on the Inserted Object and Configure the Slots
as per the Configuration. Select the Check Box if it is a 2
Slot Module.

 STEP 16.Repeat STEP 14 & 15 for Inserting and configuring
Redundant PLC Object.

 STEP 18.Follow STEP 14 for inserting the Object Created for SBA.
Double Click on the inserted Object and Configure the
Module Legend as per the configuration.

STEP 19.Repeat Step 18 for inserting all the nodes as per the
configuration.

STEP 20.Update the configuration and start the project to check the
diagnostics of the PLC.
