Global warming

Nowadays the world is suffering from global warning which is becoming more and more serious.
Global warming defines as phenomenon of increasing earths average temperature due gases such as
carbon dioxide. Although our government has taken some initiative such as campaign of plant trees and
recycle but global warning is still continuing and unstoppable. There are some causes and effects of global
warming to the earth.

The global warning is caused by the greater use of CFC. CFC is known as chlorofluorocarbon which
contains carbon, chlorine, fluorine. They are harmful to the ozone layer in the earth’s atmosphere. They
are used as refrigerants, propellants for aerosols and as a solvent for dry cleaning purposes. Moreover,
more industries and vehicles also can result in global warming. In today’s modern and busy world,
everyone use their own vehicles to go to their destination. More vehicles can produce more carbon dioxide
gas. The more carbon dioxide gas production consequently will make the ozone layer become more and
more thin. The same goes to the industries which are used to improve our country’s economy which are
releasing carbon dioxide gas.

As a result, global warming can cause the rise in production of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases
are contains carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane. These gases cause greenhouse effect to take
place which traps the heat radiating from earth to space .Furthermore, the rise in temperature all over the
world also the effect of global warms. For an example, the temperature in Malaysia has increased until 35
Celsius. A 1 Celsius rise in temperature is enough to have serious global effects such as hot weather.

In addition, the rise in temperature will cause serious impact on earth. For an example, sharp fall
in grain yields. The grain yields growth in North America, Russia, and china has fallen due to the rise in
temperature. This causes the price of foods to increase. This will affect the third world which is known as
developing countries such as Africa, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. There will be less food for third world
countries. This causes more starvation worldwide.

On the other hand, melting of polar ice caps is another effect of temperature rise. There will be
higher sea levels due to the melting of polar ice caps caused by the increase in temperature in some
countries such as Iceland and Greenland. Higher sea levels cause floods especially in the areas of lower
altitude. For an example, 15% of Egypt, 12% of Bangladesh and most of the poor island states such in South
Pacific such as Mediterranean, Caribbean and Indian Ocean will severally flooded. When flood happens in
these places, both Maldives and Singapore will be submerged as a result. This causes refugee problems in
those countries.

In conclusion, global warming can cause various dangerous effects to the earth. To avoid it
from continuing, we should take some effective initiatives. We should turn off the lights and fans and other
electric appliances when we are not using it. We also should use public transport or carpool. We also can
plant trees to reduce the carbon dioxide gas in the air. So, the people should be responsible in avoiding the
global warming start from today. Otherwise it will too late to change this situation.
