Music brings us together

A four day vacation full of euphoria. Listening to my favorite music live. A cacophony of

pleasant sound with my best friends. Art installations litter the skyline. Color splashes

everywhere. Lights flash from spectacular performances, as people from around the world dance

in unison as others dance to their own beat like their lives depend on it. Pupils become dilated as

the clear blue sky turns into black background sprinkled with constellations. Pyrotechnics and

smoke linger in the air. Artists from every genre play on seven different stages. Each stage an

architectural masterpiece. The heat beats down, and people begin to sweat. Everyone welcomes

each other and smiles at one another radiantly. No predispositions, and no hate; it’s a weekend to

let loose with no worries.

It’s been months of waiting and anticipation for this weekend of a lifetime. After weeks

of research, I’ve only imagined the best this festival has been praised for. The festival starts on

Friday but for those who car camp it is Thursday also known as Day 0 at 6 am. I sit in the back

of a minivan surrounded by all my best friends as we head toward the festival grounds at 4 am in

the darkness. The hype is real. The sunrise can not come soon enough.
