B. Mata Kuliah ini membahas deskripsi dan analisis bahasa dalam tataran fonetik, fonologi,
morfologi, sintaksis, pragmatik untuk mengetahui perbedaan dan persamaan bahasa Inggris dan
bahasa Indonesia dalam teks sastra dan teks non-sastra untuk membantu proses penerjemahan
dari Bahasa Indonesia ke Bahasa Inggris dan sebaliknya.

1. Tugas 1:
Dalam kelompok, mempresentasikan dan menganalisis materi mulai dari pertemuan
ke-5 (table 1) dengan cara:
1. tentukan salah satu aspek bahasa yang akan anda analisis (misalnya reduplication,
gender, fronting dst)
2. Pilihlah satu teks bahasa Inggris atau bahasa Indonesia beserta terjemahannya
3. bandingkan kalimat yang mengandung aspek bahasa tersebut dalam teks bahasa
sumber dan target
4. simpulkan persamaan dan perbedaan dan jelaskan bagaimana kalimat yang
mengandung aspek bahasa tersebut diterjemahkan
5. presentasikan hasil analisis

Membuat esai mengenai potensi masalah pengucapan bahasa Inggris dan cara
mengatasinya
3. Tugas 3
Menganalisis potensi masalah dalam menerjemahkan number, gender, person, case,
transitivity, comparison, prefixes, infixes, suffixes, and word formation processes
4. Tugas 4
Menulis karya tulis mengenai analisis teks dan terjemahan dengan cara:
1. Pilihlah minimal 5 paragraf dari teks berbahasa Inggris
2. Identifikasi potensi masalah linguistik yang terkandung dalam teks tersebut
3. Terjemahkan teks dan jelaskan cara mengatasi masalah tersebut.
