A. DESKRIPSI
B. Mata Kuliah ini membahas deskripsi dan analisis bahasa dalam tataran fonetik, fonologi,
morfologi, sintaksis, pragmatik untuk mengetahui perbedaan dan persamaan bahasa Inggris dan
bahasa Indonesia dalam teks sastra dan teks non-sastra untuk membantu proses penerjemahan
dari Bahasa Indonesia ke Bahasa Inggris dan sebaliknya.

F. KEGIATAN PEMBELAJARAN

Pembelajaran akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan student centered learning.


Secara garis besar, kegiatan pembelajaran mencakup: mahasiswa secara mandiri mengulas
kembali berbagai aspek bahasa Inggris dan Indonesia; menganalisis persamaan dan
perbedaan aspek bahasa; mengidentifikasi berbagai persoalan yang dapat timbul dari
perbedaan aspek bahasa kedua bahasa tersebut; memberikan rekomendasi cara
mengatasi potensi masalah dalam pelafalan, leksikal, sintaktik, dan semantik. Ada tiga
kegiatan utama yang akan dilaksanakan dalam perkuliahan:
1. Presentasi (penyajian) materi oleh dosen.
2. Penugasan: Ada sejumlah tugas yang harus dikerjakan oleh mahssiswa selama
perkuliahan berlangsung dalam satu semester, seperti tugas mempresentasikan materi
mulai dari pertemuan ke-5 (table 1), tugas analisis untuk mengidentifikasi persamaan
dan perbedaan bahasa Inggris dan Banasa Indonesia, dan tugas menulis karya tulis
mengenai (1) potensi masalah pengucapan dalam bahasa Inggris dan cara
mengatasinya; (2) potensi masalah dalam menerjemahkan number, gender, person,
case, transitivity, comparison, prefixes, infixes, suffixes, and word formation processes.
3. Diskusi mahasiswa: Mahasiswa mendiskusikan berbagai konsep bahasa, persamaan dan
perbedaan bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesia

G. TUGAS (TAGIHAN)
1. Tugas 1:
Dalam kelompok, mempresentasikan dan menganalisis materi mulai dari pertemuan
ke-5 (table 1) dengan cara:
1. tentukan salah satu aspek bahasa yang akan anda analisis (misalnya reduplication,
gender, fronting dst)
2. Pilihlah satu teks bahasa Inggris atau bahasa Indonesia beserta terjemahannya
3. bandingkan kalimat yang mengandung aspek bahasa tersebut dalam teks bahasa
sumber dan target
4. simpulkan persamaan dan perbedaan dan jelaskan bagaimana kalimat yang
mengandung aspek bahasa tersebut diterjemahkan
5. presentasikan hasil analisis

2. Tugas 2:
Membuat esai mengenai potensi masalah pengucapan bahasa Inggris dan cara
mengatasinya
3. Tugas 3
Menganalisis potensi masalah dalam menerjemahkan number, gender, person, case,
transitivity, comparison, prefixes, infixes, suffixes, and word formation processes
4. Tugas 4
Menulis karya tulis mengenai analisis teks dan terjemahan dengan cara:
1. Pilihlah minimal 5 paragraf dari teks berbahasa Inggris
2. Identifikasi potensi masalah linguistik yang terkandung dalam teks tersebut
3. Terjemahkan teks dan jelaskan cara mengatasi masalah tersebut.

I. PERATURAN (TATA TERTIB)


a. Mahasiswa hadir dalam perkuliahan tatap muka minimal 80% dari jumlah pertemuan
ideal (lihat aturan akademik universitas).
b. Setiap mahasiswa harus aktif dan partisipatif dalam perkuliahan.
c. Dosen dan Mahasiswa tiba di kelas tepat waktu sesuai dengan waktu yang
ditetapkan/disepakati.
d. Batas toleransi keterlambatan adalah 15 menit. Mahasiswa yang terlambat lebih dari 15
menit boleh mengikuti perkuliahan namun dianggap tidak hadir.
e. Mahasiswa harus memberikan pemberitahuan jika tidak hadir dalam perkuliahan tatap
muka.
f. Selama perkuliahan berlangsung, HP dalam posisi off atau silent.
g. Meminta izin (dengan cara mengangkat tangan) jika ingin berbicara, bertanya,
menjawab, meninggalkan kelas atau keperluan lain.
h. Saling menghargai dan tidak membuat kegaduhan/gangguan/keonaran/kerusakan di
dalam kelas.
i. Mahasiswa yang melakukan plagiat, mencontek saat ujian dan melakukan pelanggaran
norma lainnya tidak diluluskan dalam mata kuliah ini.
