1. What was the general topic of your Senior Project?

My general topic for my senior project was to shadow a physical therapist and to learn
the exercises they perform on patients. And then perform them myself.

My research paper topic was physical therapy helps avoid getting surgery.

3. What was your Mentor-supervised activity?

My mentor supervised activity was shadowing the physical therapist first semester and

then for second semester to perform the exercises myself.

4. How did your Research Paper connect to your activity?

My research paper connected to my activity because a lot of patients I have seen while

shadowing have overcome their injury and avoided having to get surgery done.

5. Did you discover anything unexpected while conducting your research? If yes, explain

what you discovered.

I discovered that doing therapy as an option before surgery most of the time can help you

not only recover from surgery but help you save money.

6. Did your position, opinion or thesis change as a result of your research? If yes, explain

how your position, opinion or thesis changed.

No my thesis never changed.

7. How much time did you spend researching and writing for your Research Paper?
It took me a few months researching because I wanted to use reliable websites, I also

used information based on my shadowing to help me as well. To write the research paper for me

did not take as long as finding information only because once I got information I began to feel

passionate about my opinion.

My activity did not take long because I would go in on Wednesday after school for about

I did not use the timelines I mostly saw the dates posted in my advisory teachers google

classroom.

10. If you could do your Senior Project again, what would you do differently?

If I could do my senior project again I would definitely choose a different topic to do it

on. I learned that physical therapy is not the choice for me. Besides that I did good on turning

everything in on time.

11. How will you prepare yourself for the Oral Presentation?

I will prepare myself by making note cards and practicing my presentation at home in

front of my family. I will also make sure to practice enough where I do not have to read off my

cards. I will also create a powerpoint to help guide my presentation.

12. Did you encounter any problems or challenges? If yes, explain how you dealt with

them.
I had a problem in the beginning because I forgot I was not allowed to perform exercises

on actual patients. So what I did instead was have the doctor perform exercises on me so I

memorize them.

13. What are your thoughts, ideas or reflections on the whole experience and the final

outcome of your Senior Project?

I feel like I did a good job on turning everything on time. I mostly struggled on my

research paper. I wish I had more support or help on that.

14. What did you learn about yourself through the Senior Project experience?

I learned that if i believe in myself that I could get everything done on time. I also learned that I

am able to accomplish things without people’s help.
