Stages of the Lesson
Warm-up: The teacher greets the students and announces the topic of the day.
Activity 1
Aim: - to practise the pronunciation of the words;
- to revise the vocabulary
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: The students are asked what toys do they know. The T pronounces the word and the
Ss repeat chorally and then individually.
Activity 2
Aim: - to provide a stimulating means of practicing the vocabulary related to the topic. Students
receive cards with splitted words on them and they will have to match them and create at least 5
words. The group that creates more than 5 is the winner.

Time: 10 minutes
Activity 3
Aim: - to make the connection between picture and word (speaking)
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: Each student receives a handout and they will have to choose three items for Nick,
Sam, Ann and Jill. Then it’s time for talking. Whose is the robot? It’s Nick’s…
Materials: the handouts, colours.
Activity 4
Aim: - to make the connection between picture and word (drawing)
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: Students receive a handout, using teacher's directions they will have to listen and join
the dots in order to create a toy (a lorry).
Activity 5
Aim: - to practise language and identify the required words
- to review the clothes
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: students are grouped in 4 and receive flashcards with clothes. When the teacher says
“trousers”, the student raises the flashcard so everyone can see it.
Activity 6
Aim: - to practise language
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 10 minutes
Procedure: Divided in two teams, the Ss have to come to the board in turns and dress up a boy or
a girl with items of clothing. Each student will make a sentence: Whose is the hat? It’s Sally’s…
If they make a mistake the other two teams will get each one a point; if they don’t make any
mistakes, they will score a point. The game goes on like this, with each S coming to the board,
until the boy or the girl is all dressed up and all clothing items are used. The team that gets the
highest score wins.
Materials: a girl and a boy body, posters with clothes/flashcards
Activity 7
Aim: - to identify the required words
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: They will listen a song: Whose is the jacket?
Activity 8
Aim: - to revise the content
Interaction: Ss-Ss, T-Ss
Time: 5 minutes
Procedure: At the end of the lesson the teacher will ask children what words do they know that
start with: "b", "s", "c", "t", "l" "w"
