1. Short Message Service (SMS)

SMS adalah kemampuan untuk mengirim dan menerima pesan dalam bentuk teks dari dan
kepada perangkat mobile ponsel. Teks tersebut bisa terdiri dari kata-kata atau nomor
kombinasi alpha numeric. SMS diciptakan sebagai standar pesan (message) oleh ETSI
(European Telecommunication Standar Institute) yang juga membuat standar GSM yang
diimplementasikan oleh semua operator GSM. Panjang setiap pesan dalam SMS maksimal
terdiri dari 160 karakter jika menggunakan alphabet Latin dan 70 karakter jika
menggunakan alpahbet non-Latin seperti huruf Arab atau Cina.

2. Notice
Notice adalah salah satu jenis short functional text yang berisi sebuah informasi singkat
dan sederhana yang berbentuk tulisan atau simbol untuk memberikan intruksi atau
peringatan kepada publik, biasanya bebentuk rambu-rambu. Sedangkan bentuk lain dari
Notice ada beberapa diantaranya adalah warning dan caution.

3. Announcement
Announcement adalah pernyataan (pemberitahuan resmi) dalam bentuk lisan atau tulis
yang berisi sesuatu untuk di ketahui oleh semua orang. Namun, tidak semua orang yang
mendengar atau membaca pengumuman tersebut berkepentingan atas pengumuman
tersebut. Pengumuman dapat kita dengar atau baca dimana saja, misalnya pengumuman
lisan disekolah atau di tempat-tempat umum, sedangkan pengumuman tertulis dapat kita
baca di papan pengumuman, di majalah, dan di koran.
 Example :
Announcement! Due to the 7th grade off during the third grade National Exam. It is
expected that all students do English duties, ranging from pages 50 to 56.

4. Advertisement
Advertisement (Periklanan) adalah adalah sebuah teks yang memiliki tujuan untuk
mengumumkan sebuah sesuatu agar menarik bagi banyak orang dan agar suatu produk
tambah terkenal di semua kalangan umum berupa sarana komunikasi dengan pengguna
produk atau layanan. Iklan yang dibayar oleh orang-orang yang mengirim mereka dan
dimaksudkan untuk memberitahu atau mempengaruhi orang-orang yang menerima pesan.
