has taken part multiple times this year. For example; serving my friends, volunteering, give to
the Church and many more. I am not forced to serve, It's something that I do because I like to
Service is something we do quite a lot in St. Charles. God wants us to share our talents
and our happiness with others. One of the main purposes as a Catholic is to follow one simple
rule: The Golden Rule. Treating others as we treat ourselves applies to serving others. Religion
is a fundamental subject at St. Charles and it’s one of the core subject and reasons why I’m
attending this school. Everything I have learned from the textbooks and from attending mass at
school has made me understand what God wants from us. He sent His only son to this Earth to
serve God in a way that made us understand how to live a better life and to be better people. In
everything I have learned from the Bible I now apply to my life. I now understand that the
Gospel is a way to help me understand how to live my life as a Catholic and how to serve the
Lord. The Beatitudes are a perfect example of His teachings of what God wants from us.
Attending Catholic school has given me a foundation of what my life in the future will be.There
are some ways a person should be when one serves: Being humble, being merciful, and being
brave to what others may say about what you are doing.
Both my teachers and my parents have influenced the spirit of service in me. At school
there is always an opportunity to serve others. What I learn at home will be present later in my
life. All the things I did and learned in religion class have helped me develop new passions in
me.
I have always liked to help others no matter who it is. But this year was different,
because as I volunteered I saw the light of Christ in others. For example; working at the
orphanage, Casa Hogar, has developed a love for helping children and I was able to connect
with them because God was present. It's important that when you have a blessing, you return
caring, and volunteering at a young age will benefit me in the future and it has taught me so
many things I can pass on. A spirit of service is something needed in everyone's lives. This
year I have volunteered in many places and they have each taught me in their own way. I have
