Job Title Telecom Maintenance Engineer Department Operations

Reports To Head of Industrial telecoms Location Qatar - Ras Laffan

1. SCOPE OF JOB
To conduct the corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, modifications and upgrades of industrial
telecoms systems as well as to coordinate for spares, materials and other resources required for these
activities, on Dolphin Ras Laffan plant (onshore) and Dolphin offshore facilities as per Dolphin procedures.
The Industrial Telecom systems are:
PAGA system, CCTV system, Security Access and Attendance system, Meteorological system, Microwave
line-of-sight radio, Fence Intrusion Detection system, OTN system, TETRA radio system, Aeronautical radio
system, Marine radio system, Telephone system and Structured cabling system.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Troubleshooting the above mentioned industrial telecoms systems, as assigned by the Head of
Industrial Telecom, in a timely manner and to a high quality.
2) Conducting /supervising the corrective maintenance related to the above mentioned systems.
3) Carrying out all the modifications, upgrades as per the company’s approved Management of Change
procedures (MOC).
4) Carrying out minor modifications that are triggered by end users requests.
5) Ensures healthy operation of servers, workstations and network components and conduct periodic
backup, antivirus update and operating system patching as per the approved procedures.
6) Ensuring documenting all changes by updating the related systems’ drawings and any other
documents seems to be necessary.
7) Interacting with the Telecom Supervisor and the technicians in order to implement the systems’
modifications and upgrades.
8) Ensures compliance with company methods and procedures.
9) Complies with all company Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
10) Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner by not taking on any
task(s) that are perceived as unsafe and if in doubt, consults supervisor/manager before proceeding.
11) Reports all accidents, incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or to the QHSE Department if
supervisor/manager is not available.
12) Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.

 Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
 Bachelor degree in electrical/electronic engineering (or a similar field related to
Telecommunication).

Experience:
 Minimum of 10 years experience in Telecommunications field, in Oil & Gas industry.
 Minimum of 5 years experience as Maintenance Engineer in gas or petrochemical plant and
facilities.
 The experience should encompass all or most of the systems listed above
Technical Skills:
 Specific knowledge and hands on experience in the following fields: Electronic circuits
troubleshooting, radio frequency system (RF), fiber optic technologies, electric machinery, Data
communications, PC hardware and software troubleshooting, computer networks and audio and
video systems.

 Specific and solid working experience, formal training or on-the-job training in the troubleshooting,
installation/commission and (or) maintenance of the following systems:

 Hernis Scan CCTV systems model HE-400 and HE-250

 Tyco Fire and Integrated Solutions (formerly Spector-Lumenex) PAGA systems

model ACE100 and ACE16.

 Senstar Fence Intrusion Detection System (FIDS) model Intelliflex
