1. GENERAL
This document is presented as a guide for the installation of embedment, e.g. anchor bolts, anchor
blocks and other embedded materials, for Main Equipment. (Turbine, Generator, Exciter, etc.)
The template and its support structures are erected in order to arrange and fix the anchor bolts and
other embedded materials on the COiTect position and elevation.
Anchor bolts setting work is the most important among works to be carried out before
commencement of erection.
This setting work is carried out in parallel witil the bar arrangement work of civil works.
Tile template is fixed securely on temporary supports and then the anchor bolts and other
embedded materials are fixed on the template.
The template, anchor bolts, etc., should be fixed to neither the re-bars of anchor coucrete nor
concrete molds (temporary ones).
Before concrete casting, the position and elevation of the anchor bolts and other embedded
materials shall be confirmed if they are satisfied with the allowance.
On casting concrete, separate scaffolding for concrete placing needs to be set in order to prevent
the set anchor bolts from moving off their con·ect positions. At the same time, during concrete
placing, it should be checked and confirmed that anchor bolts and templates are set at correct
position with transits and Y-Ievels placed at suitable positions that the X and Y axes of the template
and the levels of the anchor bolts have no deviation and changing.
Before the template is removed, the centerlines must be transferred down to the embedded plates
in the concrete and retained for the nse of turbine erection and survey reference.
During the removal of the template, special care must be taken that the bolts threads are not
damaged or nnts lost. Machined surfaces are protected with grease.

I) Anchor bolt setting elevation before placing concrete shall be determined inconsideration of:
• Design elevation (Design setting level)
• Rotor Bearing Alignment
• Concrete contraction during cnring period
2) Consequently, tlle elevation of the anchor bolts before casting concrete shall be calculated as
follow;
Setting elevation = Design elevation + Rotor Bearing Alignment + Concrete Contraction
The detailed setting elevation before casting concrete is as shown on the attached drawing
"SETTING ELEVATION OF ANCHOR BOLTS".
The erection of the template and suppOli structnre is going on with the civil work at the same time,
so the Erector shall proceed considering both mechanical & electrical work and civil work.
These are only temporary materials for setting the anchor bolts and otller embedded materials,
therefore they can be modified if there is interference between support stmctnre and embedded
materials.
However, the modified portion shall be reinforced on the same level.
