Assessment Scheme
This is the assessment scheme of Academic Writing. It includes:
Assessment Criteria (categories considered in the process of assessing a candidate’s performance throughout the course)
Weight (the relevant percentage of assessment)
Description (a short description of each of the assessment criteria)

Ongoing from session 1 to session 10 – assessed by course instructor
Participants are expected to present four Academic essays as follows:
Assignments 40% Literature Review (First Attempt) corresponding to 10%
Literature Review (Second Attempt) corresponding to 10%
Argumentative Essay (First Attempt) corresponding to 10%
Argumentative Essay (Second Attempt) corresponding to 10%
Conducted once as per schedule
All participants are expected to sit a final exam that has two sections.
Language Section: 10%
Final Exam 30% Writing Section: 20%
The final exam is a standardized exam that is generated by the Language Unit
and marked by class instructors. It covers the concepts and strategies
delivered over the period of the course.
