BACKGROUND
oil, as main factor of land resource becomes successes key for agriculture

S and others land use practices. Rapid regional development accompanied

by overuse of land resource leads to decrease in soil health and quality,
land use potency and others complex problems of environment. To
minimize the impacts on forthcoming land and environment, it is important to
understand the factors that cause as well as the solutions to overcome these complex
problems.
Increasing knowledge and
technology, as increasing society
awareness and understanding on
agricultural and environmental issues
became a new highlight in the last
decades. In the next, soil science and
land resources management will remain
the center of attention and discussion on
food and energy production, biodiversity,
environmental sustainability, soil and
water conservation, spatial planning and
land use. It is also important to optimize
the allocation of land use, poverty
alleviation, and equitable regional
development.
By the adoption of agriculture science and technology, the issues can be
resolved in order to achieve resilient environmental sustainability and best land
management practices. The majority of the issues need to be addressed
comprehensively from different point of views through science, technology, research,
development and innovation for sustainable agriculture, particularly towards
environmental sustainability and food security.
The theme of International Seminar and Congress of Indonesian Soil
Science Society (ISCO-ISS 2019) is Land Resource Management and Agriculture
Innovation: Towards Sustainable Environment and Food Security. This event will
2

lead to interesting and factual subtopics: Soil Health and Fertility, Biodiversity and
Bioresources; Soil Physic, Water Conservation and Agroforestry; Land Use Planning
and Policy, Socio-cultural and Economical Aspect of Land Management; Soil
Mineralogy, Genesis and Classification; Mining Reclamation and Environment
Disaster Management; GIS And Remote Sensing on Agriculture, Integrated Farming
System, Precision Agriculture and Green Technology.
The International Seminar and Congress of Indonesian Soil Science
Society serves as a knowledge-sharing and invigorating discussion platform for
multiple stakeholders: academicians, policy makers, practitioners, and professionals.
It will be held as a scientific forum to unite ideas, visions and missions as well as to
arrange appropriate strategies in anticipating local and global challenges in the future.

OBJECTIVES
