Background Information
You are a Team Leader for SimTech’s Head Office operating in the city. You lead a team of approximately 10
employees whose functions largely involve customer service and administrative duties.
Your position is responsible for providing quality and efficient service to general customers that call
through to the organisation’s help lines. You also manage the daily functions of your team. This includes
hiring, motivating, recognizing and rewarding, coaching, counseling, training, and problem solving.
Additionally, the position is responsible for assisting the manager with development, analyses and
implementation of staffing, training, scheduling and reward/recognition programs.
Task 1 – Goal Setting
1. On the Staff Intranet, review the relevant workplace documents to find out more information about
your position, the Company’s direction and objectives. In particular, you should concentrate on:

Key Organisational Goals
Any other relevant workplace policy or procedure
Provide an outline of the organisation’s plans and policies
2. After reviewing the information, establish and justify 2 personal and 2 team goals. Ensure that these
goals meet the SMART format.

4. Prioritise using a numbering scale (1 – Most Important, 4 – Least Important) the importance of each
