Ben Carroll

1. I was in your Biology H class in my sophomore year. In your class I got an 88.
2. The most interesting part about your course was during the DNA section. I loved
learning about how DNA was discovered and how it is used to identify aspects about
yourself like possible diseases or even who you are related to.
3. I have worked with my grandfather since I was about seven. During that time we have
done a plethora of projects like renovating an entire section of a house, replacing
plumbing or siding of a house, building patios and many more. This job was usually
weekends but the past couple of summers I have worked at this house for 3 days a
week for about 8-9 hours. Now I am currently working at Martin’s Specialty Sausage on
Saturdays from 6-12. We clean and prep the equipment for the week.
4. My hobbies include archery and video games.
5. I will be applying to Rutgers New Brunswick, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and
Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Florida.
6. I have requested letters from Mr. Sweeten, Miss. Begley, and Mr. Caputi.
7. An additional teacher that I considered going to but didn’t was Mr. Field.
8. My counselor is Mr. Caputi.
9. My career goal is to become either an aerospace engineer or a mechanical engineer.
10. You were one of my favorite teachers that I’ve had and felt that you were one of the best
people that would be able to give a good description of me as a student and possibly as
a person.
11. I took your course in my sophomore year.
12. If it could be possible for you to get it to me by the end of November but if not then that is
okay. I understand that you are very busy.
13. I have always enjoyed four things. Working with my hands, math, science and making a
difference in people’s lives. I feel that Aerospace engineering will give me the
opportunity to combine all four of these and Mechanical engineering will give me the
opportunity to combine all but space.
14. I am sad to say that I have received no honor, awards, etc. at West.

16. My parents have influence me to do what I love in this world. My grandfather (Pa) had
influenced my love for working with my hands.
17. I work both during the summer and the school year. During the summer I worked with
both my grandparents 2 days a week for each for about 8 to 9 hours and during the
school year I am working at Martin’s Specialty Sausage for 6 hours a week.
