 Watching the Video ( 5 Minutes )

Before the lesson starts, the teacher brings order of desks to the circle so that
students can communicate with their teachers and friends better and an effective
classroom environment can occur. At the beginning of the lesson, the teacher asks
students what they learned last week and what you remember from our lesson. Then,
the teacher shows the video about the colors such as pink, blue, purple, green, orange,
yellow and purple in order to make easy student’s remembering. And also, teacher can
get student’s attention thanks to this entertaining and trainer video. Meanwhile, the
teacher shows the pictures of objects which are shown in the video to emphasize the
colors. At the end of the video, teacher stops the video and wants to tell which color is.
 The Balloon Activity ( 30 Minutes )

After the students have watched the video, the teacher brings the balloons of 7
different colors to the board. At each of the balloon, the letters containing the color of
the balloons are hanged. And then the teacher gives envelops to each students. These
envelops contain a colorful cart. There are 18 students in the class and the teacher has
distributed the envelopes as 4 to 3 people, 3 to 2 people groups. These 3-person groups
were given difficult color names because these students are 3rd grade so they can do
easily to spell it with their friends.

The teacher asks the pupils what color the first balloon is. The teacher waits for the
students to answer and repeat them to check student’s pronunciations. The teacher
wants students who have the same color card as the first balloon to come to the board.
Then teacher tells the students who have the same color to sit together. The same
method is applied for each balloon.

After students sit with their partners, they pick the letters from the envelopes. And
they combine the letters in correct way. While students combine the letters of the
color, teacher checks what they do and if students have a problem or question, the
teacher guides them to find the correct answer instead of telling the correct answer
directly.

After all students completed their tasks, teacher wants to spell what color they have
for each pairs. While the students spell the color name, teacher writes on the board
what student says. In this way, other students learn the correct spelling of each color.
If they do any mistakes while spelling, teacher make correct student’s mistakes.

At the end of the activity, the teacher wants the students to go to the colorful
objects hanging on the walls and stick the appropriate colors that match the pictures
correctly. The teacher finishes the lesson by giving homework.

5. Anticipated Problems and Solutions

Students are expected to do wrong pronunciation of words because they are third class.
Besides this, students’ mother tongue is Turkish and Turkish is written like a reading. That’s
why, while students write English words such as colors, they can have difficulty in writing.
So, teacher should observe students in the class to see their mistakes and teacher should give
feedback. Also, teacher should assist students in asking question in relax because children at
this age want to feel comfortable and it may be difficult to correct the misunderstood
information in the future.
6. Evaluation

During the activity, the teacher observes the students and goes to beside the students and
follows what they do. The teacher evaluates the student's activity but the student won’t be
graded what they do. And also, there is no exam.

7. Homework

Throughout the activity, the primary aim of the teacher is to teach students the correct
writing of colors. That’s why, teacher gives homework which makes easy students’ learning
to students. In the homework, there is a train and its all parts are painted. And students write
colors names on all parts of train. After teacher gives this homework, she or he says that I will
give a prize to a student who do correctly.
