1. Embossing on the slope between the top and valley of each corrugation
increases structural load resistance of corrugated steel plate through
dispersing stress caused by high depth cover or unbalanced soil pressure.
- When composite reinforcement with concrete is required, no additional
materials such as reinforcing bars or studs.
2. Distinguished from existing plates corrugated by a press brake, Rex-Pate
corrugated by a roll-forming system, which corrugated plates more precisely,
can have its length up to 7.2M while existing ones' maximum length is 4.7M.

1. Granular-type soils should be used as engineering backfill and compacted evenly. In order to have
balanced surrounding earth pressure, the base soil and the backfilling material should be the same or
similar to each other.
2. Backfill of soil structure has two different parts: £Engineering backfill which directly influence to the
structure's state. ¤ Regular backfill which includes outer areas.
- Engineering backfill materials are:
Well-graded sand and gravel; sharp, rough, or angular if possible
Uniform sand or gravel
Mixed soil (not recommended for large structures)
Approved stabilized soil
- Regular backfill materials: For the areas other than structural backfill, materials available near the
site to be sued according to the design
3. The difference of the backfill compaction between the two sides of the structure should be less than
20cm. When a displacement occurs to the structure, the backfill should be partially removed to adjust
the section, and backfilling should be re-conducted.
4. During the compaction of structural backfill, no other heavy equipment than compactors should be
prohibited within 60cm from the walls of the structure.
