Neck and back pain become an international health crisis.
The WHO's report shows that low back pain is the chief
cause of global disability. Managing these conditions is
challenging and effective models must be intergraded.
World leading professionals have met last week to discuss
about the solutions for those suffered from spinal
disorders. The future healthcare, EPIC: evidence-based,
people centric, inter-professional, and collaborative.
Drs Eric Chu, Vincent Chan, Albert Leung, Valerie Chu,
Jeffrey Ng, and Lucina Ng, have been been worked in
different task forces and developed the chiropractic
profession of Hong Kong. Dr Chu, Chairman of the
CDAHK, had released a Hong Kong model. He
demonstrated its superiority compared with the current
mainstream models.

E- Evidence Based: A philosophical
model of healthcare focuses with the
prevention care. Doctors serves a
majority of patients (60%) in
prevention of disorders; 30% was the
pain-based; and 10% was abandoned by
the traditional healthcare. They are
difficult to diagnose. The model gives
one successfully alternative route.
P- People Centric: As most of the
researches were disciplinary rooted,
people centric can sometimes not
supported by the research evidence.
However, the CA provides patient's
freedom to choose, which increases the
patients' satisfaction in healthcare.
I- Inter-professional: For non-surgical
cases, chiropractor, psychiatrist,
physiotherapist, and traditional
Chinese medicine practitioners serve
as the main treatments; and surgeons
help to rule out the major pathology.
For surgical cases, orthopedic and
neurosurgeons serve as the main, all
the rest of the team assist to provide
them care.
C- Collaborative: Collaboration apply
to the others apart from the
professionals. We collaborate with
various industry standards, ensuring
the quality and cost.

Good news, another collaborative Centre for Chiropractic
Research (CCR) study has just been released by Scientific
Reports, a high impact factor journal from the publishers of
Nature. This randomised control crossover trial investigated
how spinal adjustments affect the way the brain processes
pain information and pain perception. What we found was
that a single session of chiropractic care altered central
nervous system processing of pain and self-reported pain
unpleasantness (1).
In other words, in some cases
chiropractic care may 'reset' the way
the brain processes pain information.
This is important as the way our brain
processes and regulates pain may have
an impact on many chronic
presentations (2). This supports the
growing body of research that
suggests that chiropractic care has
neuroplastic effects (3-5) in the brain
which may modulate the central
processing of pain and therefore alter
the perception of pain (6,7).
Remember that in this study we
weren’t trying to ‘treat’ pain, we were
looking at how chiropractic care may
affect the way our brain responds to
information from our environment. If

Spontaneous resolution of myopic retinoschisis after
chiropractic adjustment was found by chiropractor at the
New York Medical Group and Ophthalmologist at the Hong
Kong Adventist Hospital. It is an unusual event due to the
fact that most eyes of patients with this condition have
already undergone certain morphological changes and
vision will progressively worsen over time. We present a case
of spontaneous anatomic and visual improvement in a
myopic eye with a macular retinoschisis. The patient was
monocular oculus dextrus (OD) with a history of left eye
enucleation for recurrent retinal detachment and glaucoma
for 30 years prior. Recent optical coherence tomography
(OCT) depicted features characteristic of myopic
retinoschisis. At the same time, the patient sough
chiropractic treatment for neck pain and numbness in
upper limbs

has essentially stolen the right to
perform chiropractic from the

vulnerable to lose the right to practice.

College (CMCC) is a non-profit, private higher
education institution in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Dr Vincent Chan, Founding Chairman of
CDAHK, was invited by the CMCC presidents, Drs
David Wicks and Jean Moss, at the CMCC Berlin
Dinner.
Last day of the WFC conference, we
have heard many good feedback from
the audience. Some audience
described the presentation by Dr. Eric
Chu, Chairman of CDAHK, was the most
important lesson to their association.
Today is also the day we enjoy the
conference with great friends, Dr
Christina Cunliffe, Principle of
McTimoney Chiropractic College.
Another TRG successful Rubicon Group
meeting, Next one will be in Paris Nov
15th and 16th 2019. The Rubicon group
will present a fun and entertaining way
how science is finally catching up with
philosophical theories about how

has just wrapped up. Many thanks to
