REMARKABLE CONTRIBUTION OF WHATSAPP IN

COMMUNITY
Introduction :-
Social media always had a greater influence upon the forthcoming generation ,one of the
most prominent plateform to access social media is whatsapp Which was launched in the year
2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum who were the former employees of yahoo .This
application was launched with plethora of features and these ardent workers viewed this
application with the eye of benefitting the economy in numerous ways. According to some
studies it has been proven that it boosts the technical writing skills amongst students .Its
consecutive voice messages , QR code ,Group call and easy media accessibility and sharing
made it a supereminent ,eminent and legendary discovery in the world of technological
advancements . In this ever changing dynamic world everyone is perceived with the
inevitable intense usage of whatsapp for social networking purpose .

In this world full of people being occupied with their thoughts and problem, a gratitude
should be made for whatsapp which helped in shortening the distances between friends
,families and widening the bonds of love and concern amongst them .Intraction removed the
communication gaps between inhabitants thus strengthening the relationships .The trailblazer
former kept a fee for using it followed by a free trail of one year latter the charge for it was
abolished .Initially the app was created for ios systems but later it was available for android
,blackberry ,nokia symbian and window users also .In the year 2014 Mark Zukerberg dropped
the jaws of world when he swooped the $19 billion deal of buying whatsapp .Along with
social exposure whatsapp has also been proven to be a greater help in trade and businesses .

This application has also helped in speeding up the concept of mobile learning .On mobile
phone itself the documents are shared which is reducing the burden of carrying the portable
devices to access data and information .Moreover short term message services were very
expensive and not easy to bear on routine days ,therefore it has helped in reducing the
economical pressure in certain ways .

LITERATURE

It is already been clear that whatsapp has numerous beneficial features to support its presence
in the economy .With each increasing day new features are being added to whatsapp to make
it more convenient and useful .A list of question was prepared and spreaded among the
student of university to ascertain the usage as mention in the study by Masroor Ahmed[1]
.weather its a small business or a large scaled one ,either a job person or a student ,every one
uses whatsapp and whole life is connected through it . Students make groups on whatsapp to
circulate messages ,notice, presentation and many other documents for their education
.Business groups uses it to broadcast their products and services ,thus its been proven to be a
legendry invention for present as well as upcoming generation .
Apart from it ,whatsapp has also shown a tremendous rise is effective writing skills of youth
says Fathy El [2].Young people in Chennai uses whatsapp just for communication and a
routine updation of their status as per based upon a certain survey said Dr jebakumar
[3].Another study states that on an average nearly five hours are spend the youth on chatting
in whatsapp which means its an excess wastage of time ,staying connected on social media
with near and dear is good but changing focus from main goals can be great threat in near
future .Generation need to learn that how resources fshould be utilized in order to get
optimum utilization of technology .Other studies have also shown the remarkable decline in
the usage of facebook and a great upsurge in the trend of using whatsapp as per an article
published in 2014 whch states the rise of using smart phones and decreasing the trend of
using facebook[4].Among many citizens its been considered as an alternative to short
message services and also an reliable source to reduce anexity and stress says Ms.
Jisha[5].According to a study by university students[6] of Sindh university its been stated that
the frequency of people who check their whatsapp more than 4times a day is 74 which
depicts the addiction of people towards checking their mobile phones for whatsapp. As per
the survey based on the paper the usage of whatsapp has been shown more among the age
group of 18-25 and 35 above . the age group 26-34 has shown the less usage of whatsapp as
comared to other two groups [7].other than this a combined time spend by the youth on an
average usage of both facebook and whatsapp for per day in 1.5 hour[8].thus ,this much time
is utilized by users who engross themselves daily in whatsapp.Apart from it , a study of
privacy implication[9] depicts that whatsapp solely sufficient to identify the daily and
routines of a person .The fact cannot be denied that its really tough to detach the presence of
technical advancements and the outcome of which is that human has to completely rely on
technology for survival as stated in a certain paper [10].Its been a great source of sharing as
stated in a study by kehinde funmilayo mefolere[11] that it is deliberately used by political
party in lieu for exchanging data and documents .As per the paper of Dr. Himayat[12]its
mentioned that technological use is adapted by students in order to ascertain the results for
their goals .

about the whatsapp usage which was divided among three categories :-1)who do not use
whatsapp .2) who use only 15-30 minutes .3) those who use it in night period .The
distribution of whatsapp respondent has been done according to their gender and frequency of
whatsapp usage and on the other side ,distribution has been done according to study level and
frequency of whatsapp usage .There are multiple social media usage tools available on
different plateforms and every tool having usage frequency .

genral analysis methodology is applied on created data set and result were analyzed based on
predicitive models and hypothesis of different types of users and groups but one limitation
was that the procedure was applied intentionally to safeguard privacy .
CONCLUSION :-

Whatsapp has given a great contribution in terms of technical advancement and changed the
geography and view points of social media as it was completely different from other
plateforms of social media as it provided easy access and many other beneficial features .It
also contributed in enhancement of user’s writing skills but many users devote their precious
time in using whatsapp which has been clear through various surveys .Over the period of time
whatsapp had many updates and lot many features were added after each subsequent update
but still their are some little cons in whatsapp which are still not covered like we can not
switch from video call to normal call spontaneously or vice versa also while we are on
whatsapp call and if normal phone call arises then it immediately hold on whatsapp call
.though it was developed for the human benefits and many organisations and workstations are
getting the advantages but still the economy is confused and recklessely using it merely for
fun and wasting their crucial part of time .Also whatsapp is a great competition to other
social media tools and according to various surveys we can not deny the fact that it has
reduced the trends and usage of other social plateforms in the economy which shows its
supremacy over the others .Another problem is that their are duplicate versions of whatsapp
prevailed in the market like whatsappBlue ,GB whatsapp which are still not removed from
the internet .Overall to sum up with it can be said that it depends upon society that if they use
it for benefits or for wastage of time .
