TASK SHEET # 3

Name: ORMON ANGEL L. ANDES DATE: 05/25/2019

Question # 3: As a future leader, what are your considerations in

formulating your personal philosophy? Relative to your personal
philosophy, does it always indispensable fit your personal philosophy to
the organizational context you are affiliated with? Justify your point.

As a future leader, I already have my personal philosophy formed

from years of practice as a leader when I was the SK Chairman at age 16,
as an activist at age 22 and as a Faculty President of my school. The
following are my considerations in formulating my personal philosophy;

1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build good will and better relationships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

These considerations have guided me in my leadership roles. It made me

a better leader but still I wasn’t able to please everyone. In relation to the
mention considerations, I already embraced Voltaire’s;

Stand upright, speak thy thoughts,

Declare the truth thou hast, that all may share.

Be bold. Proclaim it everywhere.

They only live who dare.

Indeed, it is difficult to speak the truth but as a leader, I believe that it is

our personal sworn duty to speak the truth. It may be painful to some but
it frees the soul. It is worth noting that our personal philosophy does not
necessarily fit to the organization we are with right now. Although there
are studies which show the importance of aligning one’s philosophy to the
workplace, it is also important to understand that we should not sacrifice
our own personal philosophy to jive in. As an educated individuals, we
have the skill to adapt and blend in without corrupting the core of our
humanity. As an specific example, I am currently working in DepEd and
there are organizational philosophies that I don’t agree with like the no
child left behind because I believe that we really should not promote
students who did not meet the standards set by the organization. Since I
need to follow this, I have to find a way to make the students pass
without sacrificing my philosophy by doing extra work and attention to
students like learning intervention and tutorials.
