Abstract

Parental involvement implies to the amount of presence and participation a

parent has with regards to schooling, motivating and leading a child’s life. The

objective of this study is to examine the link between parents’ participation with

a children’s life and education and the children’s achievement themselves. In

hopes to increase knowledge in the field of family issues specifically” Parental

influence on the academic performance of their children” a monkey survey was

conducted in an Eng202 class at the Lebanese American University-Byblos,

with the participation of 22 students taking this class.

The findings aligned with the information presented in the literature review as

well as with previous researches and findings. In other words, the result of the

study highlights a significantly positive co-relation between parental

intervention and the education of children. Knowing that the sample of this

research was narrow, too little this prevents over generalization.

Recommendations for future research is made.
