Welcome to the class. To get through the course, the students will be assessed continuously
throughout the semester. The following provide details of the various assessments for this
course.

GROUP ASSIGNMENT (25%)

Part 1: Journal Article Review (10%)

1. In a group of 5, find recent journal articles (2014 onwards) that employ each of the
following data analysis techniques:
a) T-Test
b) Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
c) Multiple Regression

2. Analyse the selected article based on following elements:

a. Reference of the article
b. Objective of the research
c. Hypothesis/Framework (if applicable)
d. Results of the Data Analysis
e. Interpretation of the Results

3. Due date: Week 7 (5 APRIL 2019 – FRIDAY)

Part 2: Empirical Research (15%)

1. In the same group of 5, plan and conduct a partial research by replicating the research
done in one of the reviewed article.

2. The report should consist of the following components:

a. Title
b. Abstract
c. Research objective and question
d. Research framework and hypothesis (if applicable)
e. Sample and sampling
f. Instruments and measurements items
g. Data analysis(profile respondent and analysis used based on research objective)
h. Results and interpretation
i. Implication and limitation
j. Conclusion

4. Due date : Week 12 (17 MAY 2019 - FRIDAY)

Part 3: Poster Presentation: (5%)

Each group must present their research finding at week 13 or week 14 (to be confirmed).

INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT (20%)

Part 1: Quiz (10%)

A total 2 to 4 pop-quiz will be conducted during the entire class.

Part 2: Tutorial (10%)

1. Each student is required to access the tutorial questions from MYGURU platform.
2. Answer all questions at student’s convenience.
3. Each student need to discuss his/her answer during discussion at least THREE or FOUR
times.
4. Detail instruction will be given in the assignment (MYGURU).

MID SEMESTER TEST (10%)

1. The mid semester test will be conducted ONLINE or WRITTEN in week 8 (to be
confirmed).
2. It will cover chapter 1 (Introduction to Statistics) to chapter 5 (Discrete Probability
Distributions).
