I. Objectives: At the end of the session, students must be able to:


a. Draw out traditions of the Egyptians which are similar to the Filipinos
b. Identify the problems and provide solutions based on the reading selection
c. Enumerate the events in the story using plot organizer
II. Subject Matter:
Topic: Egyptian Literature ( Two Brothers )
Skill Focus: Reading/Writing/Viewing
Value Focus: Unity and Love
Materials: photocopies, laptop, documentary film, charts

III. Learning Procedures:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Checking of attendance
3. Recapitulation about idiomatic expressions ( knowledge)
B. Motivation
1. Documentary film show about the country of Egypt ( Process )
2. Dyad: Discuss what the students have observed or seen in the film e.g. customs, traditions
C. Presentation
1. Explore an interesting Arab country and find out its unique culture, beliefs and traditions.
2. Using the text posted/ photocopies, read about Egypt and its literature “ The Two Brothers
D. Guide questions for discussion
a) Identify the characters and describe them.
b) What is the conflict in the story? If you are in the place of the wife will you do the same?
c) If you are the husband, how will you settle the problem? What values and traditions
of the Egyptians are being revealed in the story?
IV. Application: (Understanding)
Activity I. Using the canvass, enumerate the traditions of the Egyptian similar to the
Filipinos.

Activity 2. Using the problem-solution chart, identify the problems faced by the characters
and provide solutions to these based on the text.
