may be permitted by regulations), the FLT ID entered is the aircraft registration marking.

When flight crew entry of the FLI ID is not required, the installer configures the

tstem to rcport the aircraft rdentification according to local aviation requirements. In this
configuration, alteration of Lhe FLT ID by the fiight crew is not possible.

Manufacturer(s):
AEROPLANES a.s)

Zlin Z 42, Z 42M, Z 42MU, Z 1 42, Z 1 42C and Z 242L aircraft , all serial numbers
Applicability:
without the wino reinforcement modification

o lnstallation of G-load monitoring units on some Zlin Z 42 seties aircrafl has revealed
that the real intensity of aerobatic operation of some aircraft considerably exceeded
the original expectations that had been used io determine the operational limitations.
As a result, these aircraft exceeded the calculated 'total limit load'spectra and limit
design aerobatic load spectrum.
Further investigations determined the need to prohibit operations under the Aerobatic
("A") category for Zlin Z 42 series aircraft with non-reinforced wings and the need to
Reason: replace some airframe/wing attachment parts to maintain airworthiness of these
aircraft in the long term.
For the reason described above, this Emergency Airworthiness Directive (EAD)
prohibits "A" category flights for Zlin Z 42 seties aircraft with non-reinforced wings,
restricts certain aircraft to Normal ("N") category operations, iimits to 190 Flight Hours
(FH) the time that can be flown under "A" and Utility ("U") categories and introduces
new life limits and new inspections requirements to be inserted into the operators'
maintenance programmes.

Effective Date: 01 August 2007
