I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a. Recognize Indian Culture and values as shown in short film.
b. Use their critical thinking skills through differentiated instructions.
c. Practice creativity and sharing of ideas in a group collaboration.

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries
a.1. Prayer
a.2. Greetings
a.3. Arranging of Chairs
a.4. Checking of Attendance
a.5. Review of the past lesson (an assigned student of the day will recap
the previous lesson)
B. Motivation
The teacher will have a short game called “Continue the Song”
The class will be grouped into 3 to perform the activity.
Questions about the game:
1. Do you feel pressured everytime you hear the next word of the
song?
2. Was the activity hard? Can you share some tips on how to
supply the next word quickly?
3. Give particular characteristic of the activity which you have
noticed and observed the most?

C. Presentation/ Discussion (Sequencing of Events)

The teacher will recap and discuss the story of Ramayana


through “Sequencing Events” ( Note: “Ramayana” is shown a
day before this lesson, students are expected to be active and
ready in answering questions about the short film. This is done
for time reason).

D. Activity (Use of Pictograph in Sequencing Events)

Let us arrange the pictures according to the sequence of event in the


story. The students will arrange the pictures posted on the board.

E. Analysis (Theme Analysis)

Answer the following questions.


1. What is the theme of the play?
2. What ideas lead you to identifying the theme?
3. How is the theme of Ramayana similar or different from the other
themes of dramas/ movies you have watched on television?
4. What does this reveal of about Afro Asian plays?
5. How does the theme affect you as a person?
6. Are you able to relate an experience, a thought or a personal feeling
with the story? Explain your answer.
F. Abstraction (Summarizing)
The teacher will ask an assigned student of the day to summarize the
story in front of the class. Then the teacher will ask the students to reflect
and give the lesson of the story.
G. Application (Differentiated Instruction)

Group the class into 4 and assign the following tasks (see the affixed
copy of every task):
Group 1: SEQUENCING OF EVENTS (Diagram)
Arrange the following events in the order of the diagram. Write numbers 1
to 10. Then, retell the story in your own words. Put your answer on the
space provided for you.

Group 2: Analyze the Actitude (Action/Attitude) Action/Attitude)


(Reporting)
Fill out the Actitude Analysis Actitude Analysis below and discuss your
analysis in front of the class. Other groups are free to agree/ disagree on
the answers of the group reporting in front of the class. Process for

Analysis
●First enumerate the attitudes/values of the characters revealed in the
video
●Then write the corresponding actions/ practices that will serve as your
evidences.
●Analyze everything and come up with the summary of your analysis.

Group 3: Validate the Conflict (Graphic Organizer)


Identify the conflict in the story ―Ramayana, Do this through a graphic
organizer, how the conflict shaped the course of the story and how it was
resolved.
Group 4: The Dramatists (Role Playing)
Identify the climax of the story, write a script and drama the climax in front
of the class.

Supposed, you were the author of Ramayana, write your own ending of the
