Our senior year is coming to end and we are going to need to decide on what college
want to go to not go to college. Having an education higher than high school is very beneficial in
many way. A college education is important because it helps you succeed in life, it can help
close the racial wealth gap, and it helps reduce unemployment in the economy because when
college graduation rate increase unemployment rates decrease. I am going to speak on the topics
College can help you succeed in life. Going to college can not only help you be
knowledgeable and be aware of the issue in the world and the history of the U.S but also have a
successful career. In The Book For Iasias one of the character quotes “ He believed that a
university degree would always help a person find a job”. (48) In the book, both parents of
Mariana got a very high education in Mexico that somewhat helped them in the US. The mother
and the father worked in a company that ran a chain of franchise restaurant. One of them in the
construction department and another in a restaurant. It just comes to show if you have a degree
you can look for a well-paid job or at least have a good knowledge.

worth it so right after high school they decide to do something else with their life. A high school
student that does not go to college does not get into debt. But, a student that does go to college
gets them self in debt. In an article called “Yes college is worth it,” David Ezekiel states,
“College graduates at the low end of the wage range earn a median annual wage of $57,000
compared to to just $39,000 for workers with only a high school diploma.” People are a certain
age consider $39,000 a lot so they would rather work and earn that yearly. But then again going
to college and getting in debt is only helping you for your own future and making more in a
lifetime. In a recent activity I did research on lifetime earning considering that the retirement age
would be 65. The difference were extremely apart and it made me realize the sufficient of going
to college and having that high education. High school graduates makes about 1.6 million and
someone with a bachelors makes 2.6 million. It’s a million difference and the monthly and
