Health and safety executives: 

The Health and Safety Executive is the body responsible for the encouragement, regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety and welfare,
and for research into occupational risks in Great Britain. It is a non-departmental public body of the United Kingdom with its headquarters in Bootle,
England.

Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH): 

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is the world’s leading professional body for people responsible for safety and health in the
workplace. OSH acts as a champion, supporter, adviser, advocate and trainer for safety and health professionals working in organisations of all sizes.
We give the safety and health profession a consistent, independent, authoritative voice at the highest levels.

NEBOSH: 

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health is a UK-based independent examination board delivering vocational qualifications in
health, safety & environmental practice and management. It was founded in 1979 and has charitable status.

National Safety Council:

The National Safety Council is a 501 nonprofit, public service organization promoting health and safety in the United States of America.
Headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, NSC is a member organization, founded in 1913 and granted a congressional charter in 1953.

National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health:

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is the United States federal agency responsible for conducting research and making
recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness.

Health and Safety Authority:

The Health and Safety Authority is the national body in Ireland with responsibility for occupational health and safety. Its role is to secure health and
safety at work.

Occupational safety and Health Administration (OSHA):
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is an agency of the United States Department of Labor. Congress established the agency under
the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which President Richard M. Nixon signed into law on December 29, 1970.

European Agency for Safety and Health at work:

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work is a decentralised agency of the European Union with the task of collecting, analysing and
disseminating relevant information that can serve the needs of people involved in safety and health at work.

Safe work Australia:

SWA is an Australian government statutory body established in 2008 to develop national policy relating to WHS and workers’ compensation.

We are jointly funded by the Commonwealth, state and territory governments through an Intergovernmental Agreement. We perform our functions in
accordance with our Corporate plan and Operational plan, which are agreed annually by Ministers for Work Health and Safety.

British Safety Council:


The British Safety Council, a Registered Charity founded by James Tye in 1957, is one of the world’s leading Health and Safety organisations alongside

the likes of IOSH & IIRSM unlike these the Council’s members are mostly companies.

Occupation Safety and Health Consultants Register:

The Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR) is a public register of UK-based health and safety advice consultants, set up to
assist UK employers and business owners with general advice on workplace health and safety issues. The register was established in response to the
Government’s October 2010 report on ‘Common Sense, Common Safety’, which recommended that all health and safety consultants should be
accredited to professional bodies and a web-based directory established.

National Compliance and Risk Qualification:

National Compliance and Risk Qualifications – NCRQ – has been established by a number of leading experts in health and safety. This includes
representatives of some of the UK’s largest employers, including the BBC, Royal Mail, Siemens plc, and local authorities, specialists from the Health
and Safety Executive, legal experts, and academics.

Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety:

The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) is an independent departmental corporation under Schedule II of the Financial
Administration Act and is accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Labour.

CCOHS functions as the primary national agency in Canada for the advancement of safe and healthy workplaces and preventing work-
related injuries, illnesses and deaths.

Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission:

The Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC) is an independent federal agency created under the Occupational Safety and Health
Act to decide contests of citations or penalties resulting from OSHA inspections of American work places.

Mines safety and Health Administration

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is an agency of the United States Department of Labor which administers the provisions of
the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 (Mine Act) to enforce compliance with mandatory safety and health standards as a means to eliminate
fatal accidents, to reduce the frequency and severity of nonfatal accidents, to minimize health hazards, and to promote improved safety and health
conditions in the nation’s mines

State Administration for work safety:

The State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS; Chinese:  国家安全⽣产监督管理总局), reporting to the State Council, is the non-ministerial agency of


the Government of the People’s Republic of China responsible for the regulation of risks to occupational safety and health in China.

Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency:
Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency ( 안전보건공단, 韓國産業安全保健公團) is a body in South Korea, which serves to protect the health and
safety of Korean workers.

It was late 1980s that KOSHA (Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency) Law was released to the public. After the KOSHA Act was released in 1986,
the labor department of Korea, which is the competent organization of KOSHA, moved to the next step that set up the plan for establishing KOSHA
and inaugurated the institution committee for KOSHA in 1987. Since then, KOSHA has been taking responsibility for the important role in occupational
safety and health in the workplace.

Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals:

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals provides certification of occupational health and safety professionals in Canada and has an
established Code of Ethics.

American Society of Safety Professionals:


The American Society of Safety Professionals is a global association for occupational safety and health professionals. For more than 100 years, the

association have supported occupational safety and health (OSH) professionals in their efforts to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities.
We
 provide education, advocacy, standards development and a professional community to our members in order to advance their careers and the
OSH profession as a whole.
