Issue: Some Ranger and Everest/Endeavour vehicles built after 31­May 2015 equipped with a diesel engine, may
exhibit the “Service AdvanceTrac®” malfunction warning displayed in message center when the vehicle is started.
No power steering assistance is available and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C1B00 is also present.
Action: Should a vehicle present with the above concern, technicians are advised to follow the Service Instruction
below.

Service Instruction
NOTE: This service calibration is intended to fix a software anomaly that causes DTC C1B00 to appear.
However DTC C1B00 is still a valid DTC should a steering angle sensor concern occur. If DTC C1B00 re­
appears AFTER the PSCM reprogram, refer to the Ranger/Everest/Endeavour WSM for normal
diagnosis/repair.Warranty claims to replace parts, where DTC C1B00 is present in vehicles with early
software may be subject to review.
1. Connect IDS to the vehicle.
2. Check for DTCs. Is DTC C1B00 present?
Yes, continue to step 3.
No, This TSB does not apply, refer to Ranger/Everest/Endeavour Workshop Manual (WSM) for normal
diagnosis.
3. Reprogram the PSCM to the latest service calibration using IDS release 100.05 or higher. Make sure you are
connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may
also be obtained from the Professional Technicians Society website – Select Rotunda ­ Diagnostic Tool Support ­
IDS Support ­ Module Reprogramming.
4. Clear DTCs and check vehicle for normal operation.
