Intervention for Behavior

Justification for proficient or distinguished rating within Domain & Component:

In my classroom I have multiple tiers of behavior support that are provided to my students each
day.

All of my students work for “tickets to success” each day in my classroom. All of my students
have the opportunity to earn two tickets each time they are in my room. Students earn one
ticket for listening to and following the rules and directions. The second ticket is earned by
students trying their best.

The second tier of support are for some students who need more behavior support. For
example, I have one student who utilizes a daily behavior report card. This student works to
earn smiley faces across all classroom settings each day in order to earn a preferred reward at
the end of the day.

Finally, students who need the most support are those who have had a Functional Behavior
Assessment performed, and from that report a Positive Behavior Support Plan has been created
for them. This PBSP must be implemented across all classroom settings, and these students
have goals in their IEP related to behavior.

Reflection on future growth within Domain & Component:

In the future I hope to continue fostering a classroom of respect and kindness, where behaviors
are handled in a discrete fashion and where behaviors in my classroom are generally
appropriate.
