METAL TRIVET

You will need to investigate, design and create a metal trivet that can be used at home. Your
trivet must involve the skills and techniques you have learnt throughout art metal including, but
not limited to, welding, scrolling and twisting.

CONSTRAINTS
- You must keep within the size constraint of 300mm x 300mm
- Material – mild steel
- You must use one recycled item from the box provided
- It must include fusion welds
- It must have feet

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO PRODUCE

MINI DESIGN FOLIO

- A small initial statement explaining what you will achieve

- Research on existing trivets (4 images with annotations)
- An annotated sketch detailing the type and length of materials, types of welds
- An image of your final product
- A 200-word evaluation reflecting on the process

PRODUCT
- A well finished metal trivet that adheres to the above criteria. Remember this might be your last chance to
develop your welding skills and cold forming processes.
