1. INTRODUCTION
This document is a technical description of the Pacific Simulators Airbus A320 PS4.5 FSTD (Flight
Simulator Training Device).

Information contained in this document is subject to change without notice.

Further breakdown of individual items and their functionality and operation is available in the
Simulator Operations Manual.

1.1. Company Overview

Pacific Simulators (Pacsim) is a simulator manufacturer with a factory based in Christchurch,
New Zealand and a sales office in Sydney, Australia.

Founded in 2002, Pacsim manufacture a range of high-fidelity FSTDs for a variety of markets
including pilot training, AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) training, entertainment and private
use. Our FSTDs are located in around a dozen countries including Australia, Bolivia, China,
France, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand and USA.

Pacsim specialise in cost-effective FSTDs (Flight Simulator Training Devices) designed for the
‘airline bridging’ flight training market. These are ideal for flight schools looking at expanding into
the airline career and jet transition market and for airlines looking at improving initial training
standards and reducing their FFS footprint.

Pacific Simulators offer three A320 models for training: The PS4.5, PS2.5 and FJ2000.

The company is privately owned.

2. Airbus A320 PS4.5 Overview
The Pacific Simulators PS4.5 is a fixed-base, fully enclosed Flight Training Device with
rear-enclosed instructors station, replicating the Airbus A320.

The A320 PS4.5 is available in CEO and NEO engine configurations.

The A320 PS4.5 FTD is designed for A320 type ratings and ‘airline bridging’ training including
Jet Transition and Multi-Crew type pilot training. With specified options it meets regulatory
requirements for FAA FTD Level 4/5/6, EASA FTD 1/2, EASA FNPT II MCC and ICAO 9625
Type IV/V certification.

Flight Schools and universities can enhance their pilot training product range by offering
advanced training such as Jet Orientation and Multi-Crew Courses.

Airlines have the ability to utilise these devices to minimise their Full Flight Simulators (FFS)
training footprint such as type rating fixed-base training, jet transition training, pilot
recruitment, and systems training. Type rating credits are available subject to certification.

Training Applications -
The A320 PS4.5 is ideal for a wide-range of training applications including:
• A320 Type Rating credits (dependent on certification level sought)
• A320 Type Rating preparation
• Jet Transition / Jet Orientation Courses
• Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) Courses
• Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL)
• Procedural and SOPs training
• Systems familiarisation training
• Simulator assessments for pilot recruitment
• Instrument training including glass cockpit familiarisation and Instrument Rating training /
recency / renewals
• Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) training
• Flight Deck Orientation and Familiarisation Courses (such as for Air Traffic Controllers, Cabin
Crew, Fire Crew)
• Human Factors courses
