I. Warm up: (Estimated time: 2 minutes)
T: greets SS, asks informal questions, prepares materials for the lesson SS: answer informal questions II. Homework Check-up: (Estimated time: 4 minutes) T: asks SS to read the homework and/or to go to the whiteboard to write the correct answers SS: read homework, answer the teacher’s questions
III. Revising the previous knowledge: (Estimated time: 4 minutes)
SS: sing the song “One little finger”
IV. Transition to the new lesson: (Estimated time: 2 minutes)
T: announces the main focus of the new lesson SS: take notes and listen
V. Introducing new language:
A) Lead-in: (Estimated time: 5 minutes) T: introduces the context, explains the rules and plays the CD with the body parts chant SS: watch the CD B) Elicitation: (Estimated time: 10 minutes) T: asks SS to label the flashcards SS: produce the new language C) Accurate reproduction: (Estimated time: 5 minutes) T: asks SS to find the right place for each flash card in relation with the demonstrative pronouns “This”, “These” SS: read the formed sentences D) Immediate creativity: (Estimated time: 10 minutes) T: asks students to work in pairs and hands out the worksheets.
