TEACHER: PERCY BRENDA Q. MODELO LEARNING AREA: SCIENCE 7
DAILY LESSON LOG
TEACHING DATE: June 10, 2019 QUARTER: FIRST GRADING
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards: The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
Scientific ways of acquiring knowledge and solving problems
B. Performance Standards: The learners shall be able to:
Perform in groups in guided investigations involving community-based problems using locally available materials
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives: The learners should be able to:
1. Describe the components of a scientific investigation; (S7MT-Ia-1)
II. CONTENT Unit 1
Scientific Method
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Problem:
2. Observation:
3. Hypothesis:
4. Experiment:
5. Data:
6. Conclusion:
7. Communicate the result:
Key Question:
1. What step has “if and then” statement?
2. How do you formulate the problem?
3. What should be considered in designing an experiment?
4. What should be done if the experi ment proved that the hypothesis is correct?
5. What step is done after experimentation?
6. How can we solve problems in scientific way?
G. Finding Practical Application of Concepts How can you apply knowing the steps in scientific method in your daily lives?
and Skills in Daily Living How can you perform guided investigations involving community-based problems using locally available materials
H. Making Generalization and Abstractions The teacher will divide the class into three according to the learner’s interest;
about the lesson the 1st group will draw a flow chart how scientific method is done in order,
the 2nd group will form a jingle about the steps in scientific method,
and the 3rd group will present a play/simulation on how to scientific method is used in everyday life.
Learners start to organize themselves after the teacher mentions “Everyone, please go quietly to your groups.”
I. Evaluating Learning 1. What is the last step in the scientific method?
2. What is the first step in the Scientific Method?
3. What is a hypothesis?
a. An untestable statement.
b. Your best “educated guess” of what the answer to your question will be.
c. An experiment
d. Whatever the teacher tells you is the truth.
4. Which of these is not a step of the scientific method?
a. Hypothesis
b. Experiment
c. Conclusion
d. Plagiary
5. Which of these words would you NOT associate with the scientific method?
a. organized
b. disorganized
c. Data
d. Control
J. Additional Activities for Application or EXTEND
Remediation 1. Think of a problem/question that you’re interested in your community.
2. Form a hypothesis based on your problem/question.
VI. REMARK The class was remarkably manageable and attentively participating in class.
The teacher encourages the class to give a round of applause every time the class performs in front.
VII. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the 30
evaluation
B. No. of learners who required additional 8
activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work? Yes
D. No. of learners who continue to require None
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies work
well? Why did this work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials
did I used/discover which I wish to share
with other teachers?
