A. Kompetensi Inti
KI 1 : Menghargai dan menghayati ajaran agama yang dianutnya
KI 2 : Menunjukkan perilaku jujur, disiplin, tanggungjawab, peduli (toleransi, gotong royong),
santun, percaya diri, dalam berinteraksi secara efektif dengan lingkungan sosial dan alam dalam
jangkauan pergaulan dan keberadaannya.
KI 3 : Memahami dan menerapkanpengetahuan (faktual, konseptual, dan prosedural) berdasarkan
rasa ingin tahunya tentang ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, seni, budaya terkait fenomena dan
kejadian tampak mata.
KI 4 : Mengolah, menyaji, dan menalar dalam ranah konkret (menggunakan, mengurai,
merangkai, memodifikasi, dan membuat) dan ranah abstrak (menulis, membaca, menghitung,
menggambar, dan mengarang) sesuai dengan yang dipelajari di sekolah dan sumber lain yang sama
dalam sudut pandang/teori.
C. TujuanPembelajaran
Pada akhir pembelajaran, diharapkan :
- Siswa dapat memahami penggunaan kosa kata khusus terkait dengan pengalaman pribadi di
masa lampau, adverbia dan frasa preposisional penunjuk waktu yesterday, last month, an hour
ago, dan sebagainya sebagai bekal pengetahuan dasar mempelajari teks recount.
- Siswa dapat memahami pola kalimat simple past tense yang digunakan di dalam recount text.
- Siswa mampu menyebutkan dan mengidentifikasi bagian struktur teks pada recount text
tertentu.
- Siswa mampu menjawab dengan benar pertanyaan – pertanyaan yang sesuai dengan isi teks.
D. Materi Pembelajaran
1. The definition of Recount text (Definisi teks Recount)
Recount text is a genre of text-types. Recount text is a text that retells past experience.
According to Andersons (1997:48), a recount text is a piece of text that retells past events, usually
in the order in which they happened.
2. The purpose of Recount text (Tujuan penulisan teks Recount)
The purpose of a recount text is to give the audience a description of what occurred and when
it occurred and to retell experiences in the form of journals, diary, personal letter, biography, travel
report, police report, sport report, history, and etc.
3. The characteristics of Recount text (Ciri khas teks Recount)
a) Focus on specific participants
b) Use of action verbs like go (went), visit (visited), stay (stayed), and etc.
c) Circumstances of time and place like Bali, home, Jakarta, in the morning, at noon, at night,
and etc.
d) Use of past tense.
e) Focus on temporal sequence
4. The generic structure of Recount text (Bagian struktur teks Recount)
The generic structure that has to be considered by the students in writing the recount text is:
1) Orientation : It provides the setting and introduces participants
2) Events :It tells what happened, in what sequence
3) Re-orientation : It is optional-closure of events
5. Simple past tense
Parrott (2000:185) gives more clear information of the use of past tense. According to him, we can
use Simple past pense are as follows: 1). Finished periods of time. Parrott (2000:185) asserts that
“The past simple is one of the tenses we use to refer to completed events, states, or action. We
choose the past simple when we consider that the event, state, or action took place within a finished
period of time. For example: I saw Harry in the office today. 2). Precise detail. We also use the
Past Simple Tense when we provide precise circumstantial detail about an event. 3). Time anchor.
In telling stories and describing what happened in the past we use the Past Simple as a ‘time
anchor’ – to establish the key ‘time frame’ of events. We also use the past simple to describe the
key events that move the story forward. The pattern of Simple Past Tense is Subject + V2 +
Object.
6. Example of Rexount text
A dissapointing moment at Cinema
Last week I went to the theatre. It was the only theatre at my town. I had 1 free ticket to
watch a movie. I had no idea about the movie I would like to watch and I did not know the schedule
of that theatre. So that, I just wanted to come and see if there was any good movie.
I parked my motorcycle at the parking area and I walked slowly at the hall of the theatre. I
took my ticket on my wallet and go to the information section to ask about how to use the ticket
that day. Unfortunately, I missed it. The ticket was already expired 2 days before.
I went home and I was very disappointed about that.

Dalam permainan menggunakan teknik Round Robin ini, guru memperhatikan partisipasi
siswa. Untuk kelompok yang paling cepat menjawab pertanyaan dengan benar, akan mendapat
skor 5.
