Sensory Properties
Morris. The emphasis of the black lines against the many other bright colors imply obvious
movement. The movement of the candies could represent something more moving- they could
symbolise movement of a society, for example. Movement also adds many more dimensions to
the piece, and the lifesavers and moving off the page to many other places. The most prominent
element Morris utilizes is color because it adds lightness and familiarity to the painting that

This piece of art is based off of the common American candy, Lifesavers. Many pop
artists use candy or other commercialized American products to share an idea, or just create a
painting. This piece of art is acrylics, which is oil on canvas. Morris, the artist of Lifesavers, uses
many of the same colorful techniques to emphasize different aspects in his different pieces of art.
Expressive Properties
Burton Norris is a pop artist, famous for his colorful artwork at the turn of the century.
Morris worked on television sets producing and working on graphics for the media, so he was
common with Commercial America. He painted many popular works such as buildings, candies,
and coca cola. Lifesavers b y Burton Morris is a recent example of pop art and society. The
lifesavers name suggests a hidden meaning- that maybe the purpose of this artwork was to
represent society because candies like lifesavers are extremely popular in America, and a
