STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My decision to focus on a career in Information Technology was a logical culmination of deep

passion and fascination for areas requiring an analytical and logical approach and the thought of
helping as many people I can using technological advancements. I started to contribute to society
by building an application named god-food which has been appreciated by many people. I was
tempted by the sheer knowledge present in Information Technology. A career in Engineering
seemed the most challenging and logical extension of my abilities.

Pursuing Bachelor’s proved to be fruitful and challenging beyond my imagination. I was exposed
to a wide range of subjects including Data Structures, Computer Organization, Digital Logic
Design, Design, and Analysis of Algorithms, Theory of Computation, DBMS and Data
Warehousing & Data Mining, Web Designing and Mobile Application Development. These
courses helped me gain a strong background in the fundamentals of Computer Science. They were
aptly complemented by the laboratory courses and my keen interest in the subjects translated into
receiving decent grades in all the laboratory courses. The challenging assignments that were a part
of the laboratory courses helped me to develop the required analytical skills for designing
algorithms, technical and programming skills. I was taught that the logic behind algorithms is
based on mathematics. These teachings made me see a computer or an algorithm or a piece of
code, as the most visible materialization of the abstract mathematical thought hidden.

During the last three semesters of my undergraduate studies, I took advanced courses like
Managerial Economics and Financial Analysis, Management Science, Banking Operations
Insurance and Risk Management, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, Compiler
Design, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Information Security. I involved myself in
numerous projects taken-up by various Clubs in our college. Apart from the projects undertaken
in college, I desired to gain exposure to the software industry that prompted me to take up various
training and internship. I worked as an intern for Path Creators (Startup). I did a Mini project titled
“Infotute”, a web application which helps students to get information about universities and what
courses they offer; (Jul - Dec ‘19). These assignments significantly strengthened my conceptual
knowledge, and have provided me with motivation and immense confidence to develop advanced
applications.

Apart from my interest in technology, I have a lot of passion for Networking and Public Speaking.
With this passion, I participated in various festivals in many reputed colleges in India. I learned to
work with a team of people. These events developed my leadership qualities. I tried to grab every
opportunity that strengthened my leadership skills and team spirit. I have always known how good
education can tune a person’s character. I was a member of Street Cause (NGO), a country-wide
organization to educate people about the value of cleanliness. I also actively took part in all the
activities taken up by the National Social Service (NSS) a government-sponsored public service
program.

After my undergraduate studies, I want to expand my horizons in this domain with a Masters in
Business Analytics. I find that an MS program will allow me to bring my experience and skills to
full potential and gain new skills required to explore such technologies to help in the progression
of society and provide predictive solutions for business development. I thus believe that the MS
program is the next essential step towards my goal.

I believe the next logical step for me is to pursue a Masters in Business Analytics offered by Kent
State University which would help me engage in research and consequently enhance the frontiers
of science and technology. I am excited at the prospect of learning under erudite faculty whose
research and reputed publications in this field has left me fascinated. Kent State University Apart
from being a great place to get a first-rate education. What I particularly like about studying in the
USA is the cultural diversity, the high and unique standard of education and natural beauty. I firmly
believe that Kent State University ,has innovative education, cutting-edge research, and
community outreach.

Given my above statements, I would be privileged to receive an offer for admission at such a
prestigious institution. I am confident of meeting the high standards of the University. My
performance in the undergraduate course (61.6%) is the testimony of my passion towards the field
of Business Analytics. I wish to raise my understanding in the field of Business Analytics and use
this knowledge to further my chances of becoming a good Business analyst. Your graduate
program will undoubtedly provide me with the right knowledge, skills, and experience to pursue
my goals and explore the opportunities to the fullest. I assure you that I will put the best effort.
