Chauvenet’s criterion is basically a mathematical approach to eliminate outlier data,
which consistently removing outlier for variation of data range [1] Chauvenet exclude the data based on customize Z statistic from a two-tailed normal probability table. The Z statistic for each observation is then computed. Those observations outside the Z range are excluded [2]
Procedure to eliminate outlier data:
1st. Calculate the sample mean, x̄.
2nd. Find the sample standard deviation , 3rd. Determine the probability based on Chauvenet Table 4th . Compare the value from step (b) with (a), to see if you can reject each data poin
