Summary case : On May 21, 2017, approximately at 1.30 pm, a surveyor was fatally
struck by a car at the intersection of Mill and Pepper Avenues. The
58-year-old surveyor are taking measurements in the center of the
roadway at the time he was hit. The driver approaching from the
southbound direction as he drove along Pepper Avenue immediately
before the accident occurred. After striking the man, the driver of
the vehicle involved in the crash pulled over and waited for police
officers to arrive at the scene.
Contributing factor : Fatality due to serious injuries from the hit
Observation from : It is reported that the driver appeared to have been speeding at the
authorities time. The increased rate of the speed was believed to have caused
him to have lost control of his vehicle as he went to enter the
intersection.

Title case : Surveyor killed by train in Dade County
Location : Dade County, Miami
Summary case : A land surveyor, Robert Taylor, was struck by a train and killed on
April 1, 2008. A CSX train hit Taylor while he was doing some
surveying work for Earth Worx (his company) near the Wildwood
Lifestyle Center in North Dade County.
Contributing factor : Train struck him and fatality due to serious injuries
Observation from : Investigators believe Taylor misjudged which track the train was
authorities travelling on.
