1990 Market Research and Project Reports


Suruchi Consultants was founded by a young dairy technologist from NDRI Karnal in 1990. The firm became amongst the pioneers in dairy
consulting in India. Most of the other dairy consulting companies were established after the de-licensing of the dairy industry in 1991. Initially the
firm provided advisory services in the areas of market research, techno economic feasibility studies, detailed project report making, setting up of
milk chilling center, setting up of milk pasteurization plants, technology sourcing and prefeasibility studies for raw milk procurement in several
states in India. It became the pioneer firm in India to conduct a national market study on lactose, casein and milk powders as well as wheat gluten
in 1994. This was the time when it was approached by a large number of clients for not only setting up their plants but design and supply it to them
also under its advisory and quality assurance.

1995 Turnkey Project Designing and Supplies


In 2004 the firm entered Nepal and from 1995 it began to expand its services by designing and supplying milk processing plant in various capacities
ranging from 5,000 lpd to 100,000 lpd. Our firm became the first one to set up largest liquid milk processing project at Kathmandu, Nepal. By 2002
the firm set up plants in almost all the regions at Nepal. The plants were supplied to both large corporates and NDDB , Nepal. These supplies were
done by getting the equipment fabricated by the local vendors and in close alliance with market leaders like Serap, Alfa Laval, Gea, Tetrapak, etc for
the critical equipment like chillers, pasteurizers, cream separators and bulk milk coolers. During the same time we designed and fabricated the
country’s first fully indigenous bulk milk cooler and instant milk chilling unit at 500 lph. We were setting up milk plants in India also during the same
period in capacity ranging from 5,000 lpd to 30,000 lpd.

2000 Mini Turnkey Dairies


Learning from our insights in India and Nepal, we visualized a great future in mini turnkey dairies at a global level. At this time most of our
competitors were focusing on large plants of mass production, but we were focusing on production by the masses. At the turn of the century our
firm achieved another milestone by exporting a mini dairy processing unit to Malaysia. It was for the first time we exported a unit for a large food
conglomerate in a so called emerging market. Lately we have also been exporting small units to Tanzania and Nigeria. During the same period we
were manufacturing our own mini dairy systems for pasteurized milk, paneer, dahi, khoa, rasogolla, etc.

2006 Setting up of Entrepreneurship and Technology Development Center


It was a long time dream of the founder to nurture dairy entrepreneurs with a facility to demonstrate and train them on setting up equipment of a
mini dairy plants. In 2006 this dream came true and we set up a state-of-the-art Entrepreneurship and Technology Development Center at Noida.
The unit got registered as an SSI unit and began to design and develop low cost technologies for the dairy industry. The first technology which
came out of this center was a stretching and molding machine for mozzarella cheese. Later we started to use the same center for training staff of
mini dairies on small dairy equipment. Since 2006 we are organizing dairy entrepreneurship development programs for budding entrepreneurs and
in Sep 2011 we shall be proudly conducting our 18th program. Since 2006 our center has trained around 200 budding entrepreneurs from 20 states
and 15 countries.

2009 New Product Development in Dairy Industry


We extended the activities of our Entrepreneurship and Technology Development Center in 2009 to a state-of-the-art Research and Activation
Center. We launched a vertical on New Product Development for the dairy industry. Our initial assignments were on developing a tea premix to
make home like tea through a vending machine for a large corporate. Lately we developed flavoured paneer, lassi beverage and paneer whey
beverage. Currently we are working on fortified milk , lactose free milk, kids milk, filled milk, dairy products with fibers , fat replacers and many
more areas of high value addition. This time also we pioneered this concept of New Product Development Centers which could be outsourced by
the large dairy corporates.

2011 Setting up of Mini dairy farm and Responsible initiative of Second innings
Suruchi Consultants has turned adult and is 21 years old now. With adulthood we understand our responsibilities and thus in order to celebrate our
21st birthday we have launched two new activities under our banner. The first one is a new vertical on setting up of mini dairy farms and the
second one is creating a community of experienced dairy professionals to contribute their knowledge with the farmers at the village level. It is
done with the intention of meeting the ambitious target of our National Dairy Plan 2022.

A Dairy technologist from NDRI, Karnal and an MBA with specialization in Marketing and Finance. He is also a
lead auditor in HACCP and ISO 22000 from TuvSud South Asia. He founded this company in 1990. Currently
he is imparting Entrepreneurship development training to budding entrepreneurs in the field of dairy
processing sector at his own Entrepreneurship and Technology Development Centre at Noida. His dream
isto convert Suruchi Consultants into a virtual incubator for all budding entrepreneurs. He is also associated
with CBI (Government of Netherlands) for capacity building of SMEs to export to EU countries.

planner, strategist & implementer with demonstrated abilities in managing entire plant operations and
accelerating business growth. Possesses excellent business acumen with skills to remain on the cutting
edge. He had significantly engaged himself in implementing ISO 9001/ 9001 standards along with various
techniques for improving the plant operations along with energy conservation for cost savings. He retired as
Managing Director RCDF Alwar Unit. He played a key role in turning around the unit by spearheading a
strategic alliance with Mother Dairy Delhi for outsourcing their milk packaging to the Alwar unit.

stint with the dairy industry, he got exposed to various facets of dairy plant manufacturing and later in sales
and marketing. He was entrusted with responsibilities for developing dealer networks for marketing milk
powder and ghee in various regions of India. He showed his passion towards this industry by becoming a
