Ringkasan Kejadian:

Pada tanggal 4 Juli 2011, sekitar pukul 09:00 pagi, seorang pengemudi truk yang mengangkut slag dari
Tambang Gerais ke Pabrik Semen Cantagalo mengalami kecelakaan dan tewas karena kecelakaan tersebut.
Kecelakaan terjadi pada jalan yang berkelok-kelok, pada saat itu truk melaju di atas jalur yang berlawanan arah
dan menabrak mobil yang melaju dari arah yang berlawanan. Truk terbalik dan menabrak dinding lereng di sisi
jalan. Pengemudi truk tewas di tempat, sedangkan ketiga penumpang di dalam mobil tidak mengalami cedera
parah. Berdasarkan penyelidikan awal diperkirakan bahwa truk melaju terlalu cepat di tikungan sehingga
melaju di jalur yang berlawanan arah dan pengemudi truk tidak memakai seat belt pada saat kecelakaan
terjadi.

INTI PEMBELAJARAN

1. Pada saat melaju di tikungan, berikan perhatian lebih seperti mengurangi kecepatan sampai dengan
cukup aman;
2. Pastikan anda selalu memakai seat belt pada saat berkendara;
3. Lakukan inspeksi kendaraan sebelum berkendara dan program perawatan yang efektif
4. Training defensive driving sangat penting bagi seluruh pengemudi;

Summary of Case:

On July 04th at approximately 9:00a.m, the driver of a 3rd party service provider was fatally injured while
transporting slag from Minas Gerais to the Cantagalo cement plant. The incident occurred on a series of
corners when the truck invaded the opposite lane and hit another vehicle that was coming in the opposite
direction. The truck overturned and crashed into a ravine beside the road. The truck driver passed away at the
scene. The 3 people in the vehicle did not suffer any injuries. Based on the preliminary investigation it is
assumed that the speed of the truck was incompatible with the curve and that the driver was not using the seat
belt when the accident occurred.

KEY LEARNING POINT

1. While driving on a curve, pay more attention such as driving in compatible speed;
2. Ensure that you use the seat belt at all time while driving;
3. Run effective vehicle pre-inspection and good maintenance
4. Defensive driving training is important to be held by all driver ;
