"The only thing that stays in this world is His word.”
Love
God is the source of love. In fact, He is a God of love. He unconditionally
loves the whole world that He gave His only Son to die at the cross in
order to save us from being doomed by our sins. Nothing could withstand
His unconditional love to us. His love will never fail. In fact, love never
fails. If it fails, it is not loving.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about the real meaning of love.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not
proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self- seeking, it is not easily
angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” – 1 Corinthians 13: 4-5

“I found the one my heart loves.” – Song of Solomon 3: 4

“Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16: 14

“And so, we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever
lives in love lives in God and God in them.” – 1 John 4: 16

“Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the

law.” – Romans 13: 10
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
– 1 Peter 4: 8
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do
with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love
because he first loved us." – 1 John 4: 18-19

“Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.” – Proverbs 10: 12

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
– 1 John 4: 8

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” – Romans
12: 9

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3: 16

“If you love me, you will obey what I command.” – John 14: 15

“Above all, be loving. This ties everything together perfectly.”

– Colossians 3: 14

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in
love.” – Ephesians 4:
Trust
One of the important things in maintaining a good relationship with other
people is by having a never-ending trust. When you trust someone, you
believe that they are true and sincere and will not do anything to harm or
hurt you. It is having this confidence that they will lead you to a situation
that is good and better.
Building a relationship with our Almighty God also requires trust. When
we put our whole trust in Him, it means we are letting Him work in our
lives. We let His plans work instead of ours because we trust Him and we
have this faith in Him that He will not deliberately do anything to harm or
anything to put us in danger.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about the real meaning of
trust.

“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths
straight.” – Proverbs 3: 5-6

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5: 7

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” – Psalm 56: 3

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” –
Proverbs 16: 3
“He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.” –
Psalm 112: 7

“And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw
near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek
him.” – Hebrews 11: 6

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept
safe.” – Proverbs 29: 25

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring
forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.” –
Psalm 37: 4-6

“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is
written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” – Romans 12: 19

“He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber.” –
Psalm 121: 3

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything

according to his will, he hears us.” – 1 John 5: 14

“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, You are my God." – Psalm 31: 14
Unity

We unite purposefully. We unite for love, for peace, for justice, etc. In
unity, we realize our common ground, our commonalities in terms of
personality and interests. Being united is being one.
One of the four marks of the Church is One along with Holy, Catholic,
and Apostolic. Being one means being united with our Lord Jesus Christ.
As we are united with Him, we are expected to be united in our belief,
united in worship and united in our faith.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about the real meaning of
unity.

“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of
you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and
that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.” – 1 Corinthians 1: 10

“Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender
heart, and a humble mind.” – 1 Peter 3: 8

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of
unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and
mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” –
Romans 15: 5-6

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” –
Ephesians 4: 2-3
“If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also
be united with him in his resurrection.” – Romans 6: 5

“I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the
world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
– John 17: 23

“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” –
Matthew 18: 20

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in
unity!” – Psalm 133: 1

“But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all
brothers. "Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He
who is in heaven.” – Matthew 23: 8-9

“For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members
of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.” – 1
Corinthians 12: 12

“Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you
all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made
complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.” – 1 Corinthians 1: 10
Pain

We all experience pain. Different kinds of pain. Life is indeed like a merry-
go-round. We are happy then after a moment, we’re sad because we feel
pain. Experiencing pain always left something in us. A scar? A mark? A
thing that is remarkable and something we would always carry with us until
the end of times.
Sometimes, God tests us how much strength do we have during hard
times. And sometimes, when we need to be better, we have to go through
the hard times. We have to go through pain and suffering in order for us to
be better in things. Sometimes, we learn through pain. We undergo changes
in ourselves because we felt pain. Whenever we experience it, God is closer
to us for He is the true Healer, He is our true happiness and He is our
strength that no one could ever be.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about whenever we feel pain.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in
spirit.” – Psalm 34: 18

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147: 3

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or
sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” – Revelation 21:
4

“At least I can take comfort in this: Despite the pain, I have not denied the
words of the Holy One.” – Job 6: 10
“Call me in times of trouble. I will save you, and you will honor me." –
Psalm 50: 15

“For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it
yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” –
Hebrews 12: 11

“When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come,
but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for
the joy that a human being has been born into the world." – John 16: 21

“As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved
into repenting. For you felt godly grief so that you suffered no loss through us.
For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret,
whereas worldly grief produces death.” – 2 Corinthians 7: 9-10

"For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth
together until now." – Romans 8: 22

“For man is born for trouble, as sparks fly upward.” – Job 5: 7

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we

will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart
of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with
their surging.” – Psalm 46: 1-3
Greed
The bible has a lot to talk about greed, power, wealth and money and other
topics pertaining to our financial lives. Being greedy will always play better
along with being materialistic. When we are materialistic in nature, we want
to get things that would make us more powerful. And that causes us to
become greedy. When we leave this world, God would not ask us how
much did we make for a living but rather ask us how much love we gave
while we still living. He will not ask you how much money you had, how
many cars and houses you have invested. He will rather ask you how many
times did you help to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, give drink to the
thirsty, etc. It takes a while to understand this especially for those people
who are self-centered.
Below are some bible verses that talk about greediness and materialism.

“But the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other
things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.” – Mark 4: 19

“No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other,
or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both
God and money.” – Matthew 19: 21-26

“Now listen, you, rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is
coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.
Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and
eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The
wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out
against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord
Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have
fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered
the innocent one, who was not opposing you.” – James 5: 1-6

“Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast
but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and
fly off to the sky like an eagle.” – Proverbs 23: 4-5

“Life is not measured by how much you own.” – Luke 12: 15

“For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.” – 1 John 2: 16

“Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied
with their income. This too is meaningless.” – Ecclesiastes 5: 10

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,
because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” –
Hebrews 13: 5

“Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of
greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” – Luke 12: 15

“Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a
green leaf.” – Proverbs 11: 28
Hope

We all have our hopes and dreams to achieve. The unfading hope within us
ignites us to do every single thing with pure confidence. In fact, nothing
could be ever done without hope. Sometimes in our lives, we tend to lose
hope.
We lose the light that we once ignited within us. However, God tells us not
to lose our hope and not to lose the light in us for He is the light itself. We
should not lose Him; we should keep Him in our hearts. As long as we
have him, we will not just give up but rather continue to hold on because
having hope means having the strength to carry on.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about the real meaning of
hope.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to
His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and
undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept
by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last
time.” – 1 Peter 1: 3-5

“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is
the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in
the saints.” – Ephesians 1: 18

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of
peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29: 11
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on
wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be
faint.” – Isaiah 40: 31

“For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does
one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we
eagerly wait for it with perseverance.” - Romans 8: 24-25.

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” – Romans 5: 5

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that
you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15: 13

“For us through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”
- Galatians 5:5.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah
29: 11

“You will be secure because there is hope; you will look about you and take
your rest in safety. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and
many will court your favor.” – Job 11: 18-19
Death and Life
We’re all running our own race called life and at the end of our race, there
lies death. Death is one of the things that remains to be mystery and
unknown in the world. No one could ever tell what happens next when we
die.
Despite the existence of fear of the people to it, death could make
realization for all of us that life is but a precious one. It makes us think that
we should live life and leave a legacy. It is because death is the endpoint of
the race and life is not on the starting point; instead, life is between the
moment that you are born and the moment that you die because life is not
just the moment that you see the world, it starts when you understand the
world, live with it and leave a legacy that will be remembered by the world
you lived with.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about the real meaning of
death and life.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more,
neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former
things have passed away.” – Revelation 21: 4

“Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the
trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be
changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this
mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the
imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the
saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is
your victory? O death, where is your sting?” – 1 Corinthians 15: 51-57
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in
me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will
never die. Do you believe this?” – John 11: 25-26

“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether
we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” – Romans 14: 8

“For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus,
God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:
14

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6: 23

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm
23: 4

“For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they
have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.” – Ecclesiastes 9:
5

“And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God
who gave it.” – Ecclesiastes 12: 7
Faith
We live the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ accordingly as we place our
faith to Him that we would live with Him in eternal life. When we live out
His words, we fully place our trust and our faith in Him for whatever
happens to us after we live in this world, we trust our lives to Him. For He
is our God, the One who has better plans for us. The one who knows great
and awesome things. We place our faith as we trust Him and offer our lives
to Him. We let go and let God. Let go of our worries and doubts and turn
those into prayers because God is in control.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about having an authentic faith
in God.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for
the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” –
Deuteronomy 31: 6

“Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have
received it, and it will be yours.” – Mark 11: 24

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do
not see.” – Hebrews 1: 1

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5: 7

“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who
doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” – James 1: 6
“And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes
to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek
him.” – Hebrews 11: 6

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of
God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your
minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4: 6-7

“Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable
matters.” – Romans 14: 1

“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never
go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – John 6: 35

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3: 16

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” – Matthew
21: 22

“I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.” –
Psalm 119: 30
Family
The family is the first and foremost educator of the Christian faith. Parents
should be the first teacher of the children as they should form their family
in Christian formation which is aligned in the principles of the bible. In
fact, the family is rightly called the “Domestic Church”.
Below are some of the topics related to the family.

Divorce

This is one of the prevailing issues in the whole world as some countries
started to legalize it while others are not because of some circumstances.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about family and divorce.

“It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of
divorce. But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual
immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a
divorced woman commits adultery.” – Matthew 5: 31-32

“So, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined
together, let no one separate.”, “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command
that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” –
Matthew 19: 6-7

“If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him and marries another man,
should he return to her again? Would not the land be completely defiled? But
you have lived as a prostitute with many lovers— would you now return to
me?” declares the Lord.” – Jeremiah 3: 1

Marriage

Marriage is a sacred vow between a man and a woman. It is a commitment

whereas, in fact, love is not a feeling but the commitment to love the
person every day. Marriage is when the husband and wife become equal
and ordained by God to become one. It is between the husband, the wife,
and God.
Below are some of the bible verses that talk about family, love, and
marriage.

“Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his
wife, and they shall become one flesh.” – Genesis 2: 24

“So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to
them, 'Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have
dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over
every living thing that moves on the earth.” – Genesis 1: 27-28

“But you say, 'Why does he not?' Because the Lord was a witness between you
and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your
companion and your wife by covenant.” – Malachi 2: 14-15
“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He
gave up his life for her.” – Ephesians 5: 25

“Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” – Mark 10: 9

“If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other
duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring
happiness to the wife he has married.” – Deuteronomy 24: 5

“Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God
will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from
the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So, we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to
me?” Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the
outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” – Hebrews 13: 4-7

“However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the
wife must respect her husband.” – Ephesians 5: 33

“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong
as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very
flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown
it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly
despised.” – Song of Solomon 8: 6-7
Self-love

Self-love is the unrequited one type of love that others cannot just take it
away from oneself. We all know that in this world, love circles almost
everywhere, but above everything else, self-love is where it all starts. When
you have something, then you can totally give it to somebody. But when
you have nothing, then you have nothing to give too. In fact, we cannot
give what we do not have.
The problem is that we hardly love someone to the point that sometimes,
we forget to love ourselves. We always ask, “How is she?”, “How is he?”
but we barely forget to ask ourselves, “How am I? Am I doing okay? Am I
loving myself?” The problem is on ourselves. We always love people and
forget ourselves until we lose ourselves and nothing to see because
everything is cast on shadows. Nothing to see but darkness, nothing to feel
but pain.
We should fall in love with ourselves first before anyone because just like
what Robert Morely quoted, “To fall in love with yourself is the first secret
to happiness.”
Below are some of the bible verse that talks about the real meaning of self-
love.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come; The old has gone,
the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5: 17

“For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as
Christ does the church.” – Ephesians 5: 29
“The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no
other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12: 31

“We love because he first loved us.” – 1 John 4: 19

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4: 13

“If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love
your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.” – James 2: 8

“She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without the fear of the
future.” – Proverbs 31: 25

“Grow in self- esteem rooted in being God’s workmanship.” – Ephesians 2:

10

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can

do the good things He planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2: 10

“Clothe yourself with humility.” – 1 Peter 5: 5

“She sets about her work vigorously; Her arms are strong for her tasks.” –
Proverbs 31: 17
“It is indeed, in the end, His word that only stays.”
