Seseorang tewas akibat kecelakaan...

Pada tanggal 4 Juni, sekitar pukul 15.40, di Jalan Tol RJ 116, seorang pengemudi truk dari pihak ketiga
mengalami kecelakaan yang mengakibatkan korban tewas pada saat mengangkut semen bulk dari Pabrik
Semen Cantagalo ke tempat konsumen di kota Nova Friburgo, yang berada sekitar 45 km dari Pabrik.
Menurut laporan polisi, truk saat itu sedang melaju di jalan tol RJ 116, pengemudi kehilangan kendali di
atas truknya pada kelokan di KM 105, truk kemudian melaju di jalur yang berseberangan dan menabrak
mobil yang melaju dari arah yang berlawanan. Di dalam mobil ada 2 orang, pengemudi mobil tewas di
lokasi kejadian dan istrinya (penumpang) mengalami cedera serius dan dibawa ke rumah sakit.
Pengemudi truk tidak mengalami cedera apapun.
Catatan:
• Kecelakaan terjadi setelah sebuah tikungan pada jalan 2 arah;
• Tim dari Holcim datang segera ke lokasi kecelakaan dan seorang ahli dalam kecelakaan lalu lintas
direkrut untuk membantu proses investigasi dan mendapatkan akar penyebabnya. Informasi awal
menyebutkan, kecelakaan mungkin disebabkan oleh truk yang melaju melebihi batas kecepatan.

Inti Pembelajaran
Jika memungkinkan, pertimbangkan hal-hal berikut ini:
• Defensive driving harus diterapkan; terutama menentukan batas kecepatan pada saat
memasuki/melewati tikungan.
• Untuk informasi lebih lanjut mengenai persyaratan pengoperasian aman kendaraan silahkan merujuk
pada FPE3 Vehicle and Traffic Safety.

A Person was fatally injured…

On June 04th, around 3.40pm, on Highway RJ 116, a truck driver from a third party service provider was
involved in a fatal accident while transporting bulk cement from Cantagalo cement plant to a customer in
the city of Nova Friburgo, located approximately 45 km from the plant.
According to the police report, the truck was traveling on Highway RJ 116, when the truck driver lost
control after a curve (KM 105), crossed the lane and hit a car that was coming from the opposite
direction. There were two people in the car. The car driver passed away at the accident scene and his wife
was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The truck driver did not suffer any injury.
Notes:
• The accident happened after a curve on a two-way road;
• A Holcim team went immediately to the accident scene and an expert in traffic accidents was hired to
support the investigation process and root causes identification. Preliminary information points to
excessive speed as potential cause of the accident.

Key Learnings
If applicable, please consider the following aspects:
• Defensive driving shall be applied; especially adjusting the speed to curves.
• For further information on the requirements for the safe operation of vehicles please refer to the
