It won’t be long

Time is fulfilling

By Kevin Harvestbell

The signs of the Lord’s

imminent return
1. Men’s hearts failing because of fear

Luke 21:25-27-" Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after
those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall
be shaken.. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a

cloud with power and great glory."

People are afraid of strange diseases. There are many

strange signs in the natural world and there is an increasing
danger from calamities. Men are afraid of the near future because

1
of famines Terrorism attacks and increased corruption in the
societies.

But for those who believe in Jesus, Christ gave a promise in

Matthew 28:20 “I will be with you always even unto the end of of
the world.” When others are looking to the future with despair,
the Christians whose faith rests on the "sure word of prophecy"
(2 Peter 1: 19) will be filled with hope as they recognize the
promised signs of Christ's soon return.

2. Spirit of war.

Matthew 24:6-7-"Ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars:

see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to
pass, but the end is not yet. “For nation shall rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom” (Revelation 11:18; Joel 3:9-14)
We live in a strange world. Everyone agrees that we should
give peace a chance. People talk peace; yet they find hostilities
and the society goes into open conflict. The prophets Micah and
Joel predicted that as the very nations talk about the desire for
peace (Micah 4:1-3), but distrust for their neighbors compels
them to prepare for war (Joel 3:9-13).1
Here the Bible predicts that there will be wars and rumor of
wars. It is long ago that the Bible pinpointed our present peace-

1 Discover Guide 10 How will Jesus Return,. The Voice of prophecy Bible school USA 2002

2
war dilemma, and declared that permanent peace will reign on
earth only when Jesus comes again.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3- "The day of the Lord so cometh as

a thief in the night” “For when they shall say, Peace and safety;
then sudden destruction cometh upon them"

Jeremiah 6:14-"They have healed also My people slightly

saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace."

The accuracy of Bible prophecy is here demonstrated by

predicting that, in the very midst of unprecedented preparation
for war, there would be widespread talk of peace. The historian,
Hazen, has confirmed this by saying, "The contemporary world,
to a degree altogether unprecedented in history, has been
dominated by the thought of war, by extraordinary preparations
for war, and by zealous and concerted efforts for peace." We
have already seen illustrations of this on a small scale. In 1914,
at the very time that ambassadors and statesmen were gathered
to dedicate the Peace Palace of the Hague, Archduke Ferdinand
and his wife were murdered in the streets of Sarajevo, and the
fuse to World War I was lighted.
More recently, we recall the President of USA commanded
the US Armed forces to launch Missiles on Syria.2 "For when they
shall say, Peace and safety: then sudden destruction cometh
upon them" (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

2 News from televisions recently in the year 2018 reported that the US launched missiles on Syria

3. Coming of the Scoffers

2 Peter 3:3-4-"Know this first, that there shall come in the last
days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, saying. Where is the
promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things
continue as they were from the beginning of creation." The theory
of uniformity ("all things continue as they were"), with its
inevitable repudiation of the Biblical account of the Flood, has
encouraged many, even Christians, to scoff at the doctrines of
Christ's second coming.

4. Perilous times

Perilous times are dangerous times. The Bible talks

about this in 2 Timothy 3:1, 2, 5-"In the last days perilous
times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves.
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof."

Today it is difficult to tell the difference between most professed

Christians and the ungodly. They look alike, eat and drink alike,
go to the same places, and do the same things.

2 Timothy 3:4-"Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God."

The prayer room has become the supper room. Dancing is more
popular than praying. Television, horse racing, and theatergoing
are preferred by millions, above knowledge of God. People want
4
to be entertained from the pulpit with words that they want to
hear and not what the Bible is teaching. This are perilous times.

People of this times love pleasures; the pleasure of dressing,

people dress as they please (my dress my choice), they have
no time to read the Bible; they play computer games, watch
soccer and other games, they go to church late because they
need to watch Television programmed episodes before they go to
church, they do not carry the printed hard copy Bible-instead
they have Bibles in their gadgets and some even go to School
instead of going to worship God on Sabbath because of the era’s
new things that are pleasing people but God is grieved.

5. The Increase of knowledge

Knowledge of Daniel’s prophecies will increase. This has
been predicted In Daniel’s prophecy (Daniel 12:4); the Prophet
predicted that “until the time of the end.” But this prediction also
seems to point straight to our computerized world and the
movements made to and fro; people are moving to different
countries for studies while others are going to the moon to
increase or bring new views of things that are in space.
It is evidential that we are witnessing an unparalleled
“knowledge explosion”- an “epidemic or human beings have
made more spectacular advances in science, invention, medicine,
transportation, and in almost all other areas of knowledge in the

5
past century, than in all previous centuries put together. You
can’t imagine the amount of knowledge increment in the world
today. That is exactly the fulfillment of Daniel’s prophecy- “but
you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the
time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge
shall increase”- Daniel 12:4.

6. False religious movements

Luke 18:8-"When the Son of Man cometh, shall He find

faith on the earth?"

The parable of Luke 18: 1-8 indicates that the prayer of faith will
be almost nonexistent "when the Son of man cometh." This is
understandable, for modernistic teaching has undermined belief
in God as a real being.

In fact we have many religious movements in the world and

all are claiming to follow the one and only Jesus. There must be
something wrong, because Jesus is one and there are many
houses claiming to follow Him.

It is good to understand that Jesus has a church and that

church must be mentioned in the Bible. Rev 12:17 and Rev
14:10, presents a small group of people who keep the
commandments of God including the Seventh Day Saturday
Sabbath and have the faith of Jesus and the Spirit of prophecy.
Jesus’ church is the one and the only which does what the Bible

6
teaches. So men should investigate the churches they are in
(only one must be true the).

7. Decrease of love

Matthew 24:12-"Because iniquity shall abound, the love of

many shall wax cold."
Many seeing hypocrisy even in some church members and
almost universal corruption elsewhere in the world, lose courage
and love grows cold.
Rape increases, violence, orphans are left without any care,
robbery and murder is increasing because love has decreased.
people are driving their vehicles over people. Imagine of a
situation where the vehicle driver hits people on the road and the
conductor denies to give back the balance to the passengers who
want to change and find a more safe bus.
Certainly our Lord is coming soon.

8. Signs in the sun moon and stars

Matthew 24:29-30-"Immediately after the tribulation of

those days shall the sun be darkened. And the moon shall not
give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven. And the
powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and then shall appear the
sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of
the earth morn. And they shall see the Son of man coming in the
7
clouds of heaven with power and great glory" (Joel 3: 15;
Revelation 6: 1213).

The great period of tribulation mentioned in connection with

these unusual sights in the heavens is known in history as the
Dark Ages. As you will learn, God had revealed, through Daniel,
the prophet (Daniel 7:25), that this time of papal supremacy
would commence in AD. 538 and last until AD. 1798 Public
persecution ceased, however, about 25 years before the full
1,260 years had elapsed, due to the combined influence of the
Protestant Reformation and the opportunities for religious
freedom in America.

Now note the accuracy of Christ's prediction in Mark 13:24,

where He says, "In those days, after that tribulation, the sun
shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light." The
first of these signs appeared after persecution ended, "in those
days," or shortly before 1798. God's Word never fails: hence on
May 19, 1780, the sun was darkened. Early in the day the birds
disappeared, domestic fowl went to roost, and grazing cattle in
the pasture wended their way toward the barnyard. That same
night the moon was darkened and gave the appearance of blood
(Revelation 6: 12).
Prior to the second coming of Jesus there will be a great
tribulation. There will be another religious decline and the world is
going to be divided into two: that is the true worshippers of God

8
and the other are those that receive the mark of the beast, those
who pay honor to the papacy.

9. World calamities

Matthew 24:7-"And there shall be famines, and pestilences,

and earthquakes, in divers places."

Famine and pestilences often accompany or follow great

wars. After world War I, famine in China numbered fifteen million
starving and three million dead. Russia's famine, according to the
explorer, Nansen, was the "most appalling in the recorded history
of man." The world's influenza epidemic took 18,000,000 lives.
World War II had its own grim story of hunger and disease.

Earthquakes are another sign of Christ's return. Scientists

estimate that as many as one million quakes a year may be
taking place in the world, only about 8,000 of which are severe
enough to be recorded. Of the more disastrous ones of
comparatively recent times, we might list the following: 192O--
China, 180,000 killed; 1923-Japan, 143,000 lives lost; 1939-
Central Turkey, 23,000 dead; 1950-Tibet, India, and Burma,
5,000 casualties.

10. The gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all

the world.
The worldwide preaching of the gospel is the last sign that
Jesus talked about, this does not mean that the whole world will

9
be saved, it rather means that when Christ comes the world will
have no excuse of saying we didn’t hear or know.

Matthew 24:14-"This gospel of the kingdom shall be

preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then
shall the end come.”

Preaching the gospel is the mission that has been given to

God’s people. The Seventh Day Adventist church carries the
everlasting gospel unto the world as its duty. This is the very
reason why Christ founded this church (to preach the gospel).
Just like Abraham was to be a blessing unto many, the SDA
church is to be a blessing unto the world in this end-time and this
happens when the church carries the three angels message unto
the world. The world is to be reminded that the Ten
Commandments are the very condition for going back to
Paradise. The condition to remain in paradise is the exact
condition to go back to Paradise. We have been saved and we are
to obey the law in order to show our Love for Jesus, The savior
said if you love me-obey what I command (John 14:15). And if
you want to enter into life obey my commandments Matthew
19:17, so the only way we can show love to God is by obeying
His law. And if you want to enter into life obey the law of God,
The Revelator Predicted “Blessed are they that do His
commendments for they shall have right to the tree of life and
enter in through the gates into the city”

10
The world must here such a powerful message carried out
by the one and only true church of God. The message of Christ's
sacrifice on the cross and His soon second coming is being
sounded in about eight hundred language and dialect areas of the
world.
Through media, evangelistic campaigns and all other means
the good news of Christ have been spread to the world, the
Adventist church is on with its mission, the Revival for Christ’s
Second coming has been done in several parts of the world
through evangelical campaigns and some have been programmed
in video and audio forms (to specifically name some channels:
Hope Channel, Amazing facts television, It is written, Amazing
Discoveries and other most Seventh Day Adventist’s Televisions
have are doing this very well).

How Near Is Christ's Coming When We See All These

Signs?

Mathew 24:32-34-now learn the parable of the fig tree.

When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know
that summer is nigh: so likewise when ye shall see all these
things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto
you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be
fulfilled.”

Naturally the last generation to live on this earth will be, as

Jesus said, the one that sees "all these things." Surely we see

11
them today, and may know that the coming of the Lord is "even
at the doors."
The Bible is fulfilling and Christ is coming soon

Keep watch and be ready at all

times for the Lord cometh soon.
